Man, I’ll never own a truck that big. I just wouldn’t have any use for it. It likely wouldn’t easily fit in my garage and it just seems like it would be a total pain to drive 99% of the time.

My biggest gripe with all the full size trucks now is they just look so massive. Are they actually that much bigger inside (at least up front) compared to say the 90s trucks? I know door beams and crumple zones and pillar strength requirements, but still…you’ll have to put that truck on a 6” lift with 37s to get it to look proportional.

To the point about cars all looking the same, the area where I notice it the most is in the super car realm. When I was a kid they all looked so much different and so much wilder than plebeian sedans. A Countach looked like nothing on the road, and a Testarossa looked nothing like a Lamborghini. Nowadays I can barely discern make, let alone model. “Oh look, another McLaren numerical car”. How many versions of the Aventador has Lamborghini made with a slightly different shape and a new name?

The Passat CC seemed to start the trend of the fastback sedan. Like it was said, pedestrian crash regulations and aerodynamics are creating the same basic car shape. I don’t love it.

You've seen my house. I don't think I can get my truck under the garage door..and I am pretty damn sure I can't now with all new suspension stuff actually.

I was backing up a trailer the other day with no wires plugged in, turned all nannies off and it would NOT STOP BEEPING AT ME. It was very tight work and that sure didn't help, wanted to blow my tundra up after. Fuck toyota for not letting you turn everything off.

Can't believe it's not as simple as a switch. Great intentions poor follow thru.
Not the same but our Hino box trucks have backup alarms and I put a kill switch so we can be kinda quiet when needed.

I think if I put the trailer wires into the truck it wouldn't have done it. BUT, I didn't and didn't want to get out and mess with it, it wasn't my trailer I was just moving it for someone else. The fact that I turned every one off in the settings, but it still overrode my choice and beeped non-stop without any end, pissed me off alot. Choices are great, options are great so is safety. but forcing things and not giving options to just drive the fucking truck, isn't something I can get behind.

Lol, I agree completely. I'd be ready to kill! Maybe a dummy plug with a switch or something to bypass...? I don't know but there's got to be a better way than Dynamite ( ya I don't like things beeping at me either)

That would piss me off to no end! What was beeping at you? I move my trailer around the yard without plugging it in all the time, I can't think of how the truck would know what's going on. Even the nanny systems I do have in the truck, I don't think any of them beep at me, just start flashing on the dash.

the collision system. i turned everything off on the computer and it kept beeping that i was getting close to a tree or better yet the fucking trailer itself. i was in tight wood lane with a 20+ foot trailer and no room anywhere really. so i was getting beeps from 2-3 different corners at a time and i can’t focus like tht. SoI got it in place and next time i move it it’s in my tractor with way better sight lines and not a single beep besides my horn!

Oh, gotcha. I only have the rear camera on the tailgate, I don't have the beeps. I had them in my older F-150 and it was never happy when backing up the trailer, but that was just the proximity alerts (I guess I never looked into turning them off, I didn't have a camera on that truck). I do agree with you, at that point it becomes of a distraction than it's worth, there should be a 'silence all' so you can concentrate or even hear someone outside spotting you.

I assumed the backup collision sensor. Sees the trailer as an obstacle in the way.

I have the lane departure, at least it has a memory state and I don't have to turn it off every time I start it up. I wish ECT was the same way. I know the new Rangers turn on the auto start stop every time, it resets and you have to rewire it basically to default off and selective on.

The infiniti beeps when I reverse with the trailer, but there's a button that appears on the screen to stop it

Mine automatically turns off the proximity sensors if a trailer is plugged in. It also gives me the option to turn them off any time I shift to reverse.

Anybody have the ability to swap coil springs out on the rear of my infiniti? I think it can be done without disassembly though I could be wrong on that.
