Battery died, and replaced it and truck has refused to idle below 1100 in park and neutral. We have brought it to 4 shops, spent about $1300 and we have no fix. It did not idle like this before the battery switch out.

    Things that have been done:

    1. Idle relearn (several times by all shops)
    2. Check vacuum leaks(smoke)
    3. Fuses checked
    4. Throttle Body Replaced OEM
    5. Grounds Checked
    6. Computer flashed

Mechanic has ran diagnostics and everything is operating as it should be. The mechanics are baffled. We are dumbfounded as to why no one can figure this out.

    HELP?

Did they check timing? What about the throttle position sensor? Check for leaks around the maf sensor?

Electrical issues (fuses & ground) shouldn't cause this kind of problem.

You should do the throttle reprogram your self to make sure it is done RIGHT

Thats a weird one, almost sounds like you have a vacuum leak, but it wasn't idling like that before the battery died. kind of stumped without looking at the datalist and see what the vehicle is doing. Trying cleaning the MAF sensor and see if that changes anything.

    Check Coil Packs!
I had 1 go bad and took me forever to diagnose. It took 3 months to idle rough enough to throw a code and stall
My situation had rough idle at low rpm only ( stops lights, signs) in gear only. AC at stops made it worse (load on engine)
Bought 1 new coil pack and swap cylinders until issue went away.
    Get OEM coil packs.

Wow it took 3 months for it to throw a coil pack code, that's nuts.

I guess they check the Power Steering Pressure Switch, disconnecting it and the RPM's went down to normal. Replaced the switch and plugged in and it went back to high idle. They are thinking possible an issue in the wiring or circuit?

It's probably time to take it to a Toyota dealer to have it diagnosed and fixed.

Like I asked, what type of garages have you been going to
Obviously they don’t have a competent technician that you want to trust

I get your point but 4 shops? With anywhere from newer techs to seasoned? So if that is the case I can't take it anywhere because everyone is incompetent? And how do you finally find a 'competent shop'... you just keep going until what you've been to 350 in a week? wtf.

I'm posting to see if anyone has any issues like this that could offer help not point out the obvious.

Ask around, is there a local (ish) mom n pop garage you could use . They usually treat you well as they would like for u to come back
Hard to understand how four places can’t get a grip on this. There are many competent techs out there but more that aren’t.

Also, and very important, I just noticed your name so I’m pretty sure you are a female. Unfortunately a lot of places will take advantage of you. Hopefully you have someone intimidating to take along with you

We've gone to coporate, and mom and pop type. I brought it to the guy I normally bring my stuff too 3rd in. My work brings our entire fleet in. Still couldn't deduce what was going on.

Nice assumption, but my husband has been dealing with the mechanic as it's his truck.... but I am in no means un able to understand what is going on. And for the record my husband has worked on his on vehicles for years and he knows when he's being bullshitted. This one is above anyone's understanding.

Ok, did the battery die due to age or other related issue?

Ok truck running good, battery dies of age and a new one is installed, start truck up and all is good except now a high idle.
Shouldn’t have to relearn anything, maybe radio presets, Computer keeps things in order, or should. Maybe computer didn’t like low voltage of battery and in turn now has a brain fart to cause high idle.
As some relearn procedures have been done to no success I’m still think brain has an anurism
