I am hearing mixed reviews on Toytec's OME 885 coils not getting along with Bilstein 5100 shocks. Like they aren't good to be used together. Is that true, or can the two be matched up together to work good?

VW, sorry to give you the impression that the OME coils and the 5100s wouldn't work together... They definitely will, just that OME works "better" with OME...

Oh no problem Longhorn. I'm just trying to save on some cash if you know what I mean. I think I am going to go with the bilstein 5100's all around front and back with the toytec 885 coilover lift kit. Any one got any issues with that or see any problems with that setup? I'm not trying to be mean, but just honest. Got to get it done right.

Okay, finally ordered my toytec lift kit and all around 5100's! Now when I get them installed, I need to make sure the 5100's for the front and rear are set at 0, stock height right, and let the front coilovers and the rear AAL's do the lifting?

Have you found somewhere to install it yet or are you going to give it a go?

I'm probably just going to have a shop install them because I still need to get my wheels and tires put together, have the pressure gauge re-adjusted, tires balanced and mounted. Plus after its lifted I need to get it realigned and stuff I presume and it just sounds like to much work for me. I'll have the pro's deal with that stuff as long as the price ain't outrageous! Thanks for all your help though, really appreciate it! I learned a lot about my Taco!!! :D

currently deployed but before I left I threw on a new set of 33" BFG M/T. when I bought the truck, it had a 2.5" (I assume) Ravtec leveling kit and the new rubber seemed to fit fine with little trimming to the wheel well. Was looking on toytec at the Bilstein 5100 front and rear with Eibach/Toytech coilovers and 2" AAL kit. Will it be possible to scrap the Ravtec and install this kit with the 33's still fitting?

Have been reading a ton about the 5100's and brushing up on lifting do's and don'ts.. I know, and I new when I bought it, that spacer kits aren't the best thing for UCA's and joints, is this true? will scrapping the spacer kit that is already installed and getting new shocks all around with coilovers and AAL be a good route? lots of questions... I am new and curious as I have this deployment dough to spend =D

I did not like my Billies with stock coils but I hear good things when paired with the OME 885's.

Stupid question..If you have your Bilsteins set at 2.5 plus the 885 coil which is good for 1.5, the lift you would get is 4"??

DO NOT do that!!! I believe the 885's are good for 2-2.5"s of lift. You have to set the 5100's at 0" height and add the top plate spacer for a full 3"s of lift or I have heard of other people setting them at .85" and not using the top plate spacer to get 3"s of lift. If you want anything over 3"s, go with a kit that is made for it.
