I have the same size in Cooper STT Maxx. I love these frigin things. They pull a little to the right but that's been well documented. But holy crap what a tire.

Glad to hear it! What fix is there to them pulling the right? I'm going to need an alignment anyway since my stock tires are worn all on the inside on the fronts anyway...

What tire, specifically? Different brands/models may differ in their recommended wheel width. My Geolandar G003 MT 255/85R16 are recommended for a 6.5-8" wheel. I have them on a 7.5" and they work but the tire shop had a hell of a time getting them on and IMO they look a bit stretched. I've also heard that in general there's more risk in popping a bead while aired down if you're running wider wheel and stretching the tire. For my specific tires (which are on the narrow side for a 255) I think a 7" wheel would be better than my 7.5" and I think they'd be pretty darn stretched on an 8" wheel.

That said, I've seen plenty of 255's on 8" wheels in this thread and they look great and not as stretched as mine appear. So I'd definitely consult the manufacturers recommendations. But personally, if I planned to run a 255 I would not be looking at 8" wheels and instead trying to find a 7-7.5".

I run my Wildpeaks on 8 inch rims and they've been great. Ran my Toyo 255's on whatever the stock TRD wheel width and they were great also. But I wouldn't go wider than 8 as a personal preference. I've seen ppl running wheels too wide for their tires, like a 10 inch wheel/ 10.5 inch tire or 12 inch wheel / 12.5 tire, it always goes bad on the trails for those ppl.

Been running my 35x10.5 Kendas on 8.5 wide wheels the last 5 months with no issues. Lots of hard wheeling on them, and have only burped air a couple times since I only go down to 15psi or so. Cant wait to go beadlocks to go down to the single digits

If they're working for you that works! I will be curious how the long term outcome is with the Kendas, great size.

My Mickey Thompson’s Baja Boss at 255 on FJ/4Runner 7.5? wheels will burp air occasionally when at 10psi or so when on the rocks hard.

They have been great. I think I have around 15k miles on them so far. They are wearing awesome, and tire noise is maybe a tad louder from new. I do have some chunking and slashes in the sidewalls here and there, but thats just me being me haha.

Yeah 15 is pretty low for 33s/on the rocks. At 15psi with 35s Im constantly bottoming out wheel.

Now that's a tires size I haven't heard of before. How big do they actually measure on the truck?

I run my Kenda 35’s at 12-13 PSI on 7” TRD wheels and haven’t had any issues but I drive real slow off road too so probably not banging them around the same as others do. Love the tire but it makes me want to go 37’s. Then when I think about the amount of work to make 37’s fit and function properly, I think to my self…maybe just cut and mod for 39-40’s at that point. I like big tires and I cannot lie.

So what wheels are people running with these skinnies? I currently have a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 255/80/17 and are looking for a set of wheels that will work and look decent.

I currently run 285/70/17 on 17x9's and know the 9 inch wheels are too wide. Even the 8.5 is a bit wide.

I will be putting some Wildpeaks on the 4Runner TRD Pro wheels... Proof is in the puddin' but I shouldn't need any cutting with the 4mm offset and lift I'm about to use.
