2021 Formula 1 Season Paddock

Sorry that ya gotta leave the islands

 

We are actually excited.

I’m really looking forward to being back to a normal life. Gonna buy a caravan, see some sights, visit some breweries, fish with my fly rod in a river again and maybe watch a F1 race live or even better in person…

 

Last time at our fav beach and a little time to catch up on the press conferences…

 

I’ve got to be honest, I really don’t understand why they didn’t swap out Yuki for Albon. I really wanted to like him as he was a good driver in F3, but F1 seems to do something to new drivers. Yuki is costing Apha Tauri a lot of money in repairs and in chef costs and not getting the points they need.

I guess maybe there’s a sweet engine deal in there somewhere?

Instead we now have a MB driver driving for a Ferrari PU and a RB driver driving for a MB PU.

The world is going crazy

 

Best part of sprint racing is I can use that time block to watch the real qualifying on demand from the day before and skip the commercials and breaks between sessions.

 

Sprints are a solution looking for a problem. I wish they would just go away.
I do like the results of the last one though!

 

for whatever reason, my dvr skipped this one. but i think a 4 minute recap on YouTube was enough.

 

So now gasly has to get his car fixed and ready for the race in time. It's just a shame since who knows where he could of ended up in the running. These sprints, to me, are just a waste of time and risky for teams in case of an incident. It works for other F series but just not F1.

 

The Mrs.& I were just talking about Gasly. That stupid sprint has really wrecked his race. Shame.

 

And these cars must be 200x more expensive to fix than a lower series car.

Yup. All at risk for what? 3 points max? And no relaxation to the number of engines rule.

Thought today's sprint was great. Totally unpredictable and happy to see Max & Daniel starting 1&2 tomorrow. For some weird reason I felt there was justice in Valtrie's win/no win.
Good stuff!

 

How so? After the first full lap with DRS they could have just all gone back to the pits and called it a day.
