I've had some good engineers in my experience. Not all, but most. My senior guy at Arcair was a genius. He was the guy that got me into conceptual illustration. He had the ideas and I knew what he was talking about, and illustrated it. Sold a lot of systems that way including a robotic welding station for Hayes Dana.

Bingo! I am an Electrical Engineer (by degree) and thought a lot of these comments from earlier kind of touched a nerve. Having said that, Tom is pretty much dead-on. Most of my instructors did teach from the book with almost no real world application. When I finally finished my Masters and transitioned into the work-force I thought, “what the hell have I learned?” I have spent the last two decades experiencing real world applications and pretty much using my degree as a stepping stone to move up the corporate ladder. Seems the degrees just get you there faster while allowing us to put the techs to figuring out the problems. I still feel that a lot of what I have learned was just fluff and waste of good tuition. I will say that a vast majority of the techs tend to be arrogant and dismissive. Two-way street IMO.

    Morning, all!

Headed to the ortho today to talk about hip replacement. Yay....

Wow! This may be callous, but that ended the way it should have.

Ask if it is anterior or posterior.
    Anterior is much better.
    Much quicker
    No cutting of muscles.
7 weeks I was back to work full time , no restrictions.
I could have gone back to work in 3 if I had a desk job.
    Good luck.
    Best thing I ever did.

Unless they have totally flipped the script it will be posterior. The same ortho did my left hip about 8 years ago. I was good to go in about 8 weeks, but had HR restrictions that mandated I be out of work for 12. :notsure:

    Thanks!
