Not sure if this has been discussed… but everything I seem to come across is MTB info. So here goes…

my son and I race BMX. He rides a 20” Mini and I ride a 24” Cruiser. We carry a lot of gear to the track on weekends and I want to get the bikes up in the air over the gear. Too much money in this stuff to have the bikes and/or gear damaged. I just bought a set of CBI cross bars. And now am looking for bike racks that are comparable to mount atop them. Specifically something that will hold them with the front tires still attached, not a front axle bolt-through design. Yakima would be nice, but open to other reputable brands… please, no Amazon crap!

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I have a ? ... I just bought a new bike, I am not sure why, but the front wheel seems to be rubbing against something? When bike is turned over, I go to spin the wheel (Like Pat Sajak would say) and it doesn't spin for very long and sounds like something is rubbing. Idk if something need to be broken in? Or if I have a problem? Norco Storm 2 brand new off the lot. Thanks for any input guys.

    Yeah.
Front brake caliper probably needs to be adjusted. Loosen the two bolts slightly, squeeze the front brake lever and hold, tighten down bolts.

    First new MTB in decades!

Thanks a ton to @RockiesTaco for helping me navigate all the new tech and for being a cool dude in general. And thanks as well to all of y’all in this thread even though I’ve been lurking this whole time. I’ve learned a TON.

Now I just need to get my liner delivered to help ease my taint into things so I can get it on a proper trail. That saddle is a real bastard!

Thanks! It’s more bike than I need to start with, for sure.

But since there’s no guarantee that the budget committee will allow another bike purchase anytime soon, I decided to out kick my coverage a bit!

I’m really looking forward to growing my skills with it.

Just replaced my old specialized tires with some new maxxis (DHF up front, Aggressor in rear) - couldn't seat the bead very easily on the rear so pushed the tire up to 50 psi. Bead set and then promptly blew off the rim and sent 4 ouces of Stans all over me and the entire room. Going to be picking the sealant boogers out of my arm and leg hair for weeks to come.

But on a positive, it set first try after that!

Couldn't get the bead to seat all the way around the entire rim - so pulled a Clarkson and went for more POWER! Figure at high enough of a pressure, it would have to seat correctly, then I could reduce the air. Instead of the last section of the bead seating, it popped and skipped over the rim, which lead to a beautiful explosion.

    Live and learn I guess.
