    One time I dropped a live lanternfly into one of my air-conditioners to see what would happen...

    The A/C unit didn't chop the lanternfly up like a whirling guillotine as I expected it to, but rather ping-ponged it around the blades for a few seconds before shooting it back out through the fan grille, largely in one piece snd seemingly still alive...

    Anyway, my most recent theory is that popularity of the app in my area (Southeast PA) has waned in addition to the fact there likely aren't as many lanternflies as there were in 2019 and 2020...

    The winged bastards seem to have made their way into North Jersey and NYC now, and with the Delta variant of COVID running rampant and restrictions back in place in NYC, the Squishr app makes for the perfect socially distant outdoor activity for beleaguered New Yorkers to pass the time!
