The Unofficial "Official" Spotted Lanternfly Thread

I was here at last once a year for the annual Road Angels car show every July from 2009 until 2019, until 2020 when they moved it to Dublin; Haven't been inside the mansion or the Moravian Tileworks since like 2006 though...

 

The Moravian Tileworks, with a 1st Gen Taco photobomb; Haven't been inside this building since at least 2006, either...

 

Back home now, and the lanternfly hunt was totally unsuccessful...

 

Porter, to my knowledge, has never eaten any lanternflies...

 

My cousin's dog, however, ate like two of them at once and puked them back up a short time later...



Not only were they still intact, but one of them might have still been moving!

 

Go figure, this guy who's killed almost 100 today is out near Lancaster...

 

And the guy in second place is in Jersey...

 

The closest one to me so far was one of my own kills at my own house last November...

 

And one from five days prior at my work...

 

Okay, so there might not be anything wrong here; I'm looking at last year's squish log and the overwhelming majority of my kills seem to be in October, with many being in the middle and latter half of the month...

It just seems like given how early I saw the babies last year, there should be more adults on and around my home and place of employment by now...

 

There are usually tons of the little bastards back here!

I went inside to grow the zapper, and I thought it got away, but spotted it in the grass a few seconds later; We've got a bogey!

 

Was in philly helping my dad out to bring back a tree to virginia and saw one. They're a lot bigger than I thought. I had to do a very close inspection of the tree before transferring.

 

Nothing here; Normally they like to hang out on that part of the exposed concrete, presumably because it's somewhat out of the sun most of the time and thus somewhat cooler...

 

So you found one in a tree from here in PA and almost brought it to Virginia?

 

This is where I found today's one and only "bogey", and only my second kill of the year so far...

 

None on this side of the house, either...
