What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Swapped out my grayish/black door handles for OEM MGM door handles. I’ve done couple mini mods while I wait for my lift kit to be delivered after months of waiting!

 

Sold my stock 08 Off Road tires, wheels and tpms. Thought this was a great price for 4 new ones with excellent ratings by 2nd gen owners.

Thanks! I just did a swap out of OEM black parts...steering wheel control, 4WD knob, center bezel and shifter trim surround. I like it a lot better than the silver trim pieces. I didn’t want to paint the parts because I’m not good at paint work and I’m a little particular so...oh and the emblem I just pasti dipped.

 

Her front alignment looks a little low

 

Upgraded my front brakes today. Installed PowerStop Z36 carbon-fiber pads and zinc-plated, slotted & cross-drilled rotors. Very nice kit from PowerStop with new pins and hardware. Hoping it will improve braking power when towing my boat and popup-camper.

Had great success removing the yellowing with a clay bar ……

 

You'll love them. I installed them a couple months ago and it made a WORLD of difference! I don't tow often but I have a lot of weight and it helped a ton! Not to mention if you deal with steep grades you wont have to worry about warping your rotors

 

Sweet thanks. Also how did you mount it to the intake bracket? I plan on putting it there too.

 

Where did you find those? I've looked several times for a pre-painted set for my BRM Dbl Cab.

I don't have a camper but I do have several hundred pounds of tools and my truck tows boats often.

 

They are method 701 in 16”. They only have one option as far as specs go on their website. I believe 16x8 0 offset from what I remember. I am running a bora .75” spacer to clear uppers.

Gave it a wash and applied some 303 to the plastics and metal. Awesome stuff.

Fixed my malfunctioning Amazon rock lights as well for the millionth time. All my other lighting is Baja and I’ve been nothing but impressed. Think it’s time to swap these out as well in the near future.

 

I actually found them on EBay from seller Royal South Toyota Scion. They weren’t cheap like $200 bucks but I prefer them over the faded black ones I had.

I installed the Joying head unit this week and I went from a sceptic to a big fan. Brought new life to my Rockford subs & speakers that previously the Alpine head unit had not. Also it keeps that factory look.






Finally have full use of my steering wheel controls.


The head unit gives separate settings for the subs as well.
