Hey guys , I've ordered a 2021 tacoma sport and looking to install a cold air intake. I'm getting the TRD exhaust installed which will be a little louder than factory but would like to increase the sound more. I know the CAI manufacturers claim of HP increase but most people don't believe that.

What CAI have you installed and what have you noticed afterwards as far as sound, mileage etc ?

Just straight dryer duct that bitch from the TRD exhaust tip to the intake manifold. It’s like a 0% net loss turbo charger. Adds 1.21 Jigawatts of horsepower and doesn’t even require a flux capacitor!! I did it on my 2021 Taco and it doesn’t even void the warranty.

Orrrrrr your truck already has a CAI system.

I'm used to louder vehicles, my other one is a 2020 gr supra. I've searched other forums and couldn't find a comparison of CAI's

Post count total is good, post count per day (PCPd) is the key though.

    I'm at a healthy 3.05 PCPd myself.

I think the AFE one is loudest because when you install it you get to listen to the sound of your engine exploding due to dust ingestion

Did you not understand the last line of post 5?

Just go with the TRD 'upgrade' to make it purdy.

And remember, nothing on any street Toyota was actually developed in their racing program.

Making TRD badged stuff, well, just badged stuff.

All of these things are true. Your truck is not a sports car, therefore a CAI will not do any better than the stock big intake (essentially a CAI). If you wanna pay a few hundred bucks for a sound, by all means go for it, but it seems silly to most to pay a few hundred bucks to replace something you already have from the factory for a zero sum gain. If it added power or did something else for the truck, it would be something everyone would do. I’ve put CAIs on all my sports cars and it made a difference but I’m not in that game anymore and this truck was not built to go fast. It’s just a reliable slow truck. Knowledge is power

You want loud, you can’t handle loud. You put on a TRD exhaust. If you REALLY wanted loud you would have gone MBRP and S&B CAI.

If you can’t hear my truck obnoxiously loud 2 blocks away full throttle you need hearing aids.

It does on a diesel Hilux, where the intercooler lays right below it.

Oh snap. We dont get those here. Only fakery.

I need one to offset only having 20 lugnuts.
