Truck had 12,000 miles when I got it 2 years ago.
I have run this thing like crazy this summer, gone over 10k already. Didn't help that the daily van was off line for a few days... 4 months...:anonymous:

Married 50 years this month. Been on my motorcycle only twice this summer. The older I get the less I want to ride. Afraid of everybody on their phones and not paying attention to their driving.

I seem to remember Bates Street always being a clusterfuck. My dad grew up there in his teen years, on Dawson Street. We had relatives there up until the late 70s, and I recall exiting the Parkway, coming in from the east, and sitting and sitting through multiple lights, especially every time they worked in the area just off the exit, where Bates meets 2nd Avenue. You may remember, there used to be a huge steel mill there that employed a great deal of men. Driving there in the 80s, for college, seemed to be no better many times.

I hope it wasn't one of my great uncles. LOL. I had 2 that worked there, a short trip from Dawson St., back in the days. The one was an electrician in the mill though and I don't think the other was savvy enough to operate a crane, sorry to say.

Yeah, that was little Italy. My dad's grandfather came over from Italy. He married a non Italian though. So, I am partly Italian. Before that, they lived in the Lower Hill until the late 50s when just about all the homes were torn down to make room for the Civic Arena. The Lower Hill was the first stop for many immigrants coming to Pittsburgh, back in the day.

I’m 32 so that was before my time, but my unions hall is built on what was owned by J&L, and I worked on the Mill 19 site in hazelwood that still has the skeleton superstructure up of one of the mills.

That one time sitting in line over 24 hours the detention time paid more then the load paid the things I get myself into helping out friends. My friend owned 3 trucks and had a little mishap on his Motorcycle broke his leg I volunteered .

Then the next time different bay at the mill in and out in a hour go figure

Can`t leave in search of food long before cell phones can`t get a delivery order to the truck.

It has been years I really no longer have the urge.

Just the amount of traffic alone is enough

    Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

I woke up yesterday morning at 2AM with pain in my abdomen - I thought. By 4 I was pacing the house waiting for the pain to subside and thinking it was a reboot of diverticulitis. Figured I'd tough it out until I could see my doctor on Monday. Started to feel better and went off to the 9/11 ceremony where I was giving the keynote address. Mild pain but made it through. Came home and slept for 45 minutes and then woke up in pain again. By late afternoon I was having waves of pain, chills and nausea. Off to the ER. Finally seen at 1AM this morning - turns out I'm passing a kidney stone. I wouldn't recommend it as a Bucket List item.

Much better this AM - running out to fill prescriptions for pain and an antibiotic but really don't need the pain meds at this point - Tylenol is keeping the edge off.

Be safe and enjoy your day!!!
