Yellow is the best. Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fog lights and Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport ditch lights. Very bright

I ran French OEM yellow headlights on my 1988 BMW 325ix for a number of years. They were great in the snow, great in the rain, but not great in normal night conditions.

Before anyone says "you should only run yellow on fog lights and only in poor weather" the french had yellow headlights for a long time, they used them to see a invasion force and because they didnt dazzle oncoming drivers as much.

Does anyone have the yellow covers for SS3s? I have clear sports now for deer and late night driving, but wanted to try the yellow covers for the upcoming winter months.

Some Jeep YJ owners replace their headlights with yellow headlights.

See post #3708 for the review, but it does not include night shots. Such photos can be highly deceiving based on camera settings and camera bias, so I take a far more quantitative approach. The Maxes are the highest output intensity fogs on the market, nothing comes close. So not sure what more benefit an output shot would provide.

Super obvious that isn’t a fog light at all and shouldn’t be run on the street.

Send some more pics. I think the wide/cornering lens should have a sharper cutoff line. My ditch lights are in a driving pattern and it looks like that and mine are not sae approved

Even Baja says those lights should never be run on the street as they are a major safety hazard to other motorists (that is after they finally had an SAE product to offer). For some reason the facts seem really hard to swallow and those people like to think “I’ll just keep running them” to blind all the other motorists so that I feel better about my poor choice in lighting products, despite that it is counter to the entire purpose fogs are supposed to serve.

Wide cornering has no cut off at all, which is why they are not street legal and illuminate all the way up the trees. You need the SAE lights to have a cut off.

I have yellow/amber SR-M covers on my TRD Pro LED fogs. I'm sure they don't fit the "yellow" classifications, but such is life. If / when they burn out I'll do DDs. In the winter I run Hella XY yellow bulbs in the OEM fogs.

I've had visually yellow (whether they qualify as yellow) on every vehicle I've owned, be it bulbs, films, or assemblies. I ran Hella 500s in yellow on my STi for awhile which was kinda neat.

People like to assume people with these lights just drive around with them on all night, into traffic.

I'm sure you believe everyone who has high beams also drives with those activated and dont have the forethought to turn them off when incoming traffic is seen. You know, like dont be a dick.

I live in the mountains where these are an absolute must for seeing, while going up around turns to identify animals on the sides of the roads.

Thanks for your opinion. I'll keep running them as I have for years.
