Ive owned this truck for 15 years and bought it this way. The power windows are not original and I didnt recognize that when I bought it. Over the years the windows power has gotten weaker and weaker to the point I dont use them anymore from fear I wont be able to roll them up anymore. I can try and buy aftermarket cranks but I think the holes are bigger than what they were originally.

Maybe this is a lubrication problem? Can I just replace the motor? Ive not found much on these but would not mind just removing them. Any thoughts appreciated.

I silicone sprayed the window gaskets and the turning parts of those mechanisms and the window edges. The windows sprang back to life. Someone suggested in a different thread that the window rubber gaskets can get tight with age and I think thats what happened.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
First time lubricating in 15 years don`t wait so long .

I have never seen power window motors quite like that is there any name in case you have a motor fail to track down parts .

I have seen the external Motors that attach to the window regulator but have not installed in in a very long time.

I hope like Hell that’s not what’s inside my door. That is one funky looking mechanism. I’ve never seen one that looks like that thing

Vaseline Petroleum Jelly also works well on those window weatherstrips. Seems to condition the rubber.
The window regulator grease also gets dry and collects dirt.

No guaranttee if yours is not stock! But if its stock youre fine. Looks way more OME than this non-sense! I think this product was good for what it is as an aftermarket bolt on but looks really badly hacked to me. It must be an okay design and material to have lasted this long.

I’m still baffled by those pictures. Did someone invent that thing in their basement by moonlight utilizing an Erector Set?!?! I’ve replaced many of those in various makes. I ain’t NEVER seen nothing like that friggen thing

Youve seen this particular unit before? Lol. Been working for 15 years. Now it seems to be working even better. Not optimal but yea looks like hell!

If you want you can install an OEM power window regulator. As long as your system uses two wire motors that switch polarity when you press up or down respectively. I added OEM power windows locks and mirrors myself with a bunch of relays and terminal blocks after the OEM door harnesses.

Lube would definitely be my first answer.

The problem is you might have burned the motor out making it work harder. Or that it's just a cheap aftermarket add-on.

You could probably get some door hardware and a new(used) door panel from the junk yard for pretty cheap, then you'll get back to OEM, which is arguably better all around.
