Steering box? Yes, with a trail gear drop pitman with FJ80 balljoint hole.

 

I would use a PVC pipe coupling. The seals on these have to be inserted something like 5mm from the rim.

 

A little extension and harbor freight micrometers is how I always did it

I'm jealous of how easy the 3rd gen pickups and 2nd gen 4 runners are compared to anything after 95.5

 

Pretty much the only thing that consistently gave us trouble was that the plasma cutter kept deciding it didn't want to work. But it's pretty easy. Everything came apart and all the new stuff just fit right in. Only thing we haven't done is brakes but that's because I forgot to bring the flare tool. Oh and for some reason the third gen frame is like triple wall where you're supposed to put the shackle hanger and no one mentions that so it's very hard to cut.

I guess McDonald's is kinda the same thing but the real food and beer is a nice touch

This tool is making seal installation too easy. I put the seal in the freezer with a thin film of grease around the outer edge to keep it from pinching.

It pressed into place like sticking a knife into butter.

 

How does a bird even get inside one of these?


Stupid thing was lucky it was cooler this morning and I was able to let it out before it got pureed.

 

Hmm I'll have to try the freezer trick next time

 

Works great for bearings, bushings, and ball joints too depending on what/where they're meant to be installed
