Ceramic Coated the new Dash Gauge Cluster I bought. These pieces of shit, scratch just talking about it. I have mine that came with my truck I can ceramic coat and give someone a sweet deal on it if they want it.

 

You must really like Steven Seagal to have him on your gauges.

I've noticed that about mine. I use a damp microfiber to gently clean it and there's already micro scratches in 10K miles... Almost makes me not want to clean it... The single cupholder by the center armrest also dents and scratches like no other. WTF!

 

Sad isn't it?

 

For reals. I have a 26 year old, 237K mi DSM that the plastic cover over the gauge cover isn't "scratched" as much. Pretty fk'd up....


In its defense it probably was last cleaned 25 years ago. If you don't clean it, you don't get scratches

Try using the microfiber (whatever it's called) people use on eyeglasses lens.

 

Nothing works. Toyota screwed the pooch on this one. They literally made a screen that if you breath on it, it can scratch.

 

Like I said it scratches by looking at it.

 

I seen a ChrisFix video where he demo ways to clean the gauge cluster. The microfiber he uses doesn't scratch the plastic but it's not a Toyota either. The cluster does scratch easily to, especially with boars hair brushes.

 

Mine does to, so I learned to expect it.

The only other way is compressed air and blow out the cluster dust.

 

The ScreenProtech package I got came with one of those eye glass cloths. It scratched as well.

 

I polish the cluster on my Honda. It still scratches but not as bad as my Toyota.

Does clear film (PPF) scratches easily? If not, this can be another option for the cluster.

Never had Screenprotect, didn't know what it was. My sister has this clear film that she puts on her iPhone. I don't know if it the same as what you mentioned.
