I liked the LTX's on the 1/2 ton 8.1l chevy work truck I drove with them, they weren't super great in the sugar sand of job sites but they managed for the most part with a little help from a LuLL here and there.

Never got to actually off-road with them though so can't speak on that front, but, an observation without much experience their side walls seemed to me a little weak, definitely soft if nothing else, but they're intended to be and marketed as primarily a road tire.

After 45k miles, my Michelin LTX AT2’s were as good as new. Over the course of 15 years and several sets of MS2, AT2, and the newer Defenders, I’m continually amazed. There’s not a tire that can outperform them if you’re looking for an “all-in-one” solution.

Not here to debate and this is all I’ll contribute to the conversation. Just sharing my experience. Hope it’s helpful (I’m confident if you want a true AT tire and you choose one of these mich tires you’ll be content).

New late-2021 Ford Raptor OEM light weight KO2 37s already ordered. Ditching the Toyos. A special C-load 37 KO2 made specifically for Fords trophy truck, which weigh 1.4lbs more the Gladiators stock 33s. But I'm also dropping 0.9lbs with new wheels, for a net gain of 0.5lbs for 33s->37s.

Fair points, mine were 285 70 17 E load, but that's kind of what I'm getting at, there's a ton of variables out there, and I can only speak on my experience. But I certainly had a bad enough experience with them that it turned me off of them.

I've only been disappointed by Michelin twice.

When I found out the only "true" off-road tire they make is a 22.5 military off-highway only 37" HMMWV tire.

Then when they stopped making these in the size I needed:

I don’t see all the hate for the KO2. They work as advertised for All Terrian use. I like them better than the Duratracs I had before.

After running almost 2 decades with M/T in 35”, 37”, and 38”. I’m very happy with the KO2. It balances a lot better and is a lot more quiet. It does what I would expect out of an aggressive pattern A/T which is get the job done in all terrain but not super good at anything.

After cycles of Airing down, wheeling, and air backup I expect to get out of alignment and balance. It’s pretty common with most oversized tires that you actually use to wheel.

I was looking at tires for a while I came across these, and a few others. I didn't like the way they looked. I just ordered the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. These tires seem to have great reviews

I did a thread (as if anyone cares) reviewing my Ko2’s after switching from my OE Goodyear’s.

The biggest thing with KO’s is wet traction on the streets sucks. I means sucks to the point I am scared to take turns to quick in the rain or I will fishtail sucks. I have 285/75r16 running 32psi hot. They have 1k miles on them. Maybe that will change once more broken in.

They are no more noisy than the Goodyear, definitely heavy. I like Goodyear looks better. KO’s hold air better

NO. I once made the mistake of buying the (now defunct) BFGoodrich UltraTerrains. I won't touch them with a 10 foot pole. I won't even consider a K02, KM3.

I had KO1s ony Gen 1 and hated em. They are pretty much useless in rain. Definitely weighed on .y decision to avoid KO2s for my 3rd gen. Got Nitto ridge grapplers and couldn't be happier.

Most of the people that dislike them hit some trails with them… that’s why there is such a disdain because they’re actually complete ass off road.

I hit plenty of trails in mine. I found them adequate for anything but mud. But, anything but an MT will be useless in mud anyway.

"Complete ass off road" isn't very specific. And, if it was really true, some of the guys I know running them wouldn't be running them.

What size and load range were yours?

I distrust any tire that has "trail" in the name. Looking at you Rugged Trails...

And since you can't comment here without saying something about KO2's, I am not a fan. They load up and fling rocks like crazy IME.

My Taco had Rugged Trails. They SUCKED! I was actually happy when I got a flat because it was an excuse to replace them.

They have no grip on rocks, I had some 33x12.5-15’s on my Jeep for a while. Went wheeling with them 1 time (it wasn’t muddy) and I was slipping into ruts and had to really use the skinny pedal to get over otherwise easy obstacles. I took them off right after that and put Yokohama’s on. It was legitimately a night and day difference between them and some bald ass Mickey Thompson mtz’s.

Load range? It seems like the E's get the worst complaints. Also, what pressure were you running?

I know people who wheel the shit out of KO2's without issue. Obviously they're not going to perform as well off-road as MTZ's. Those are also MT's so apples to oranges.

What Yokohamas did you get? I'm loving the Geolander MT. And, as expected, they're better than KO2's off-road, as well as my Toyo AT3's. I had their AT's on my last 4Runner and they ruled for my uses then.

The mtz’s were heavily used without much tread left, the 33x12.5’s are a load range c tire. They were on a TJ so I was running like 23 psi on the road and about 10 off road
