Maybe it just depends on the region or type of terrain. :notsure:

I highly doubt all of the people having good experiences are lying. I know I'm not. They weren't necessarily amazing at anything, as much as they were good at most things (for me).

And, If anyone expected them to be as good as true MT's off-road, they would be disappointed. But, I know a ton of guys running mild to moderate trails on them and I never hear anyone bitching about them.

Nope, pretty much still just as broke. Got some cooler rocks though.

My favorite is a little stone from Israel.

Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.

Chill bruh, I've never seen someone defend their opinion like you. Gonna take your opinion with a grain of salt. Also your emotes make you sound like a total idiot. Stop it, get some help.

Never heard that one before, clever!

    New to the internet?

I am chill, like I said in my posts they're an okay tire, there's better out there there's worse out there they do the job I ran them for 2 years and 30,000 miles, but decided I personally don't like them for all the reasons and problems I have posted.

You're welcome to, and encourage you to formulate your own opinions, but this this thread is supposed to be about tires and thoughts and opinions of them, not me. :p

Oh good you're already learning how forums work! :bananadance:

But if you're into taking things of mine... :boink:

Sorry I like to have fun? Didn't realize you were the emote police. :luvya:

Ultimately though I am flattered I have enough power over you through this keyboard simply by voicing my experience to insight such a strong reaction, but if you don't have anything of value to contribute to the actual topic I suggest you:

    :stayontopic:

Found someone else from the cult of folks who needs to defend their choice of tire brand./S

    Let's recap.

Well which one is it? Are they terrible or are they okay?
I'm just surprised that so many people claim to have good experiences with these tires, yet for the first time in a while I hear this scathing review from a guy that likes to insult other users' and claims that other off-roaders only visit "unimproved fire roads".

    I think you're projecting.

BFGoodrich is not my choice tire brand, so you're mistaken. I'm still running the stock Wranglers and about to upgrade. I'm here for real suggestions for tire upgrades and knowledgeable users with experience. The bottom line is that while you may have experience with off-roading and several tires on your truck, you come off as a total dick and you discredit yourself. Ignored.

    Yes, let's recap, that's a great idea.

First of I do not like to insult other people, and I was insulted first if you really want to call it that, more on that in a bit.

Tone is lost through text and honestly I've been light hearted through out this.

My first post is a quick and exaggerated 'emotional' response backed by my experience.

A knee jerk use of verbage from my opinion that came to mind when I thought about the KO2; which was on my mind because the new Trail Terrains this thread is supposed to be about doesn't seem like much more than an even more pedestrian tire than the already mediocre KO2 to me.

I also said I love my coopers, but that's not entirely true, I don't actually "LOVE" them, they're just a tire that I happen to think performed beyond my original expectations for them and I am therefore satisfied by their performance which elicited the "I love them."

Everyone exaggerates especially when it's something they feel strongly about. "This is the best [insert whatever here] ever!"

Is it really though, or is that just what you're feeling in the moment?

Or maybe everyone here with their jimmies rustled about me using "junk" to initially describe them is a literalist?

If you want my absolute dry take on them; they're okay.

    It can be both.

I have a lot of okay junk, like my rear view camera, but it does the job I absolutely need it to do, it's still kinda junk, but it serves my needs so that's okay, the KO2's were kinda like that.

But a community forum is about opinions and discussion, not just dry information, if that were the case would be Tacoma Wikipedia.

I didn't think I was giving a scathing review, I was just stating my opinions of the tire in much the way as if a friend in person or to ask me that is what I would say, I type like I talk, in part because I mostly use speech to text.

And let's be clear I never claimed that other off-roaders only visit unimproved fire roads, what I said was "truth be told most people probably only ride around on the street and if or when they do trails, it's realistically just unimproved fire roads" that includes me in most people.

I've run a lot of fire roads on my own and with several Tacoma world groups they can be lots of fun.

I also said "not trying to gatekeep," and that's absolutely true, I think all kinds of off-roading is fun, but I wouldn't really call something that doesn't have technical obstacles a trail.

That's just my way of differentiating the types of off-roading, at OHV parks the trails are then further rated typically from green to like double black.

I'm not discrediting anyone or their choice on how they want to modify their truck or what they want to do with their truck.

I was only bringing that up to say that I don't think a fire road or purely on the street is a good metric for determining the capability of an off-road oriented tire, you need to go out there and climb rocks go through mud get into some sand all of it, and go climb stuff that wasn't intended to be driven on.

A fire road, even if it is a bad road, is still a road and the family Camry can make it down the majority of them.

That's not a good tire test to me.

    That out of the way...

@Foozer called me out with "What backs your claim?" And "total crap statement"

Again tone is lost in text but it seemed like he was coming at me strong kinda of 'Oh yeah? Prove it then!' verbal 'attack' if you will, a 'pissing contest' like I stated in my post response rather than a 'What makes you think that?' and since I was feeling froggy I then when on to expand on why and how I held that opinion in the manner I did.

Then he calls me "soft" for how I verbalized my opinion and my pondering of if he ment it that strongly (The 'attack' as stated; again, an exaggeration but simpler than asking "was that intended to have bite in it or did I miss interpert your 'prove it' post?) and like I would do with any other friend I offered a rebuttal, not a great one, but if a friend of yours called you a name wouldn't you go right back at them?

Camaraderie and turnabout is fair play and all that jazz.

I'm not here to make enemies or start fights, but if someone wants to poke fun at me I'll poke right back, especially when this is a thread about tires and suddenly it's getting personal with an insult, he did insult me first after all saying I was soft, but no harm no foul.

That said you can't expect me to not send it back?

I think that's part of the fun of being involved in the community but if you're going to start it then at least be willing to play?

No, that was an attempt that self-depreciating humor agreeing with him that I am soft, in a backhanded way.

Similar to me saying something like "You should recognize a self-depreciating statement seeing as throwing around terminology like projecting you must be a you're psychologist!"

And not that my relationship status is any of your business, but I appreciate your concern for me, I actually ended my last relationship and I'm currently single and pretty cool with that.

All right so this one, genuinely you may not know, maybe it's not really a common thing, I try and use it, maybe it'll catch on, maybe it won't, who knows?

    But the "/S" means sarcasm.

It was a sarcastic statement, I don't know you, I couldn't have a clue what tire running, nor could I actually care less if it's BFG KO2's or not, I don't know anything about your truck, but for some reason I'm really stirring up shit in here, but I'm having a good time that's why I put the sarcastic statement there at the end, I thought it was a harmless playfully jab, with the call out so that maybe you would know it was sarcastic and I wasn't serious, but that may haven't been understood.

I am just trying to provide honest opinion and suggestion for tire upgrade, and have a little fun while doing it, people seem to be more opinionated about the subject than I am however, and even though I was just out to find information, since nobody seems to be able to provide counterpoints on the tires themselves everyone seems to be going after me on a personal level.

    Whatever, ain't my first RoDeRo.

No, I'm really not trying to be a dick, just trying to be a human, apparently that's a little too much to ask for around here? Seems to me like a lot of people are not fully reading my posts, and instead of questioning me on it, they're jumping on me about it.

By the way, here's my rock from Israel.

    PXL_20210913_201049997.jpg

I really was the weird kid, maybe that's my problem here.

Beyond that, you're more than welcome to ignore me, plenty people do, but I think it's more fun the other way.

They look like just an updated Rugged Trail T/A of yesteryear. I thought those (Rugged Trail T/A) were good tires when I had them on my 1988 Chevy.

This seems like it would be good competition for the yoko g015. Might consider these for my lady’s crossover.

I noticed in the video they said they’re not looking at making LT sizes anytime soon

I love these threads. Tires matter to a point. Driver skill is a major factor.

Every tire mentioned in this thread sucks huge rotten dicks.
    Also....

All the tires in this thread are the most bestest tires on earth and you're all fan boys for all of them.

I don't plan on buying the new BFG Trails. I do like the Toyo AT3 Open Country All Terrain's a lot. Probably getting those or the Yokohama Geolander MT's for my next set. :mudding:

Yeah, those seem like a different market segment. These seem like a more mild all terrain. For someone who’s not really off roading
