Nope... light came back on the day after I got it back. Just haven't had a chance to make an appointment to drop it off until now.

It goes off, then comes back on a few days or times later, depending on how many times I drive it. Whatever they said was the issue last time clearly wasn't. FAK!

 

First day on the new job down, lots of overwhelming office crap then out in the field in Boston. Everyone's been super cool to me and I can't wait to slip into my new routine

 

Escalate this... escalate that... why didn't the vendor do this? why didn't the vendor do that? why can't we do this? why is that the answer? why can't you get us an answer? how come the vendor can't accommodate my request?

Enough is enough.

Haven't really found anything that "calls out to me" like I was hoping, but did see a job posting for the Town of Brookfield for a Seasonal P&R Grounds Crew. Said screw it and applied to it. Complete opposite of what the type of work I do now, but I do like being outside mowing lawns, doing yard work, etc, so what the heck! Doubt I'll get it because my resume it nothing like what this type of job is looking for, but I did make it a point to email the person listed on the job posting to explain that I have down landscaping as a side job on the weekends for a few years, currently still do a bit for friends on the side, and what I know how to use as far as equipment for that.

Like someone once said... you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I took a shot.

Its wild how much better you feel getting out of the stuffy office environment. Even if the work is harder, it's so much more rewarding working with your hands and seeing your progress in real time. Hopefully the person hiring has the right head on their shoulder and picks the best candidate

 

Being that it's a city job, I'm sure they've had a bunch of people apply for it regardless if they have the skills needed or not. City jobs are usually the best ones to get because 1) you're working for the guberment, and 2) regardless of the job itself, even if it's something you don't want to do, it's always a foot in the door to then move onto something within the company (in this case town) that you want or can do eventually.

It is what it is at this point. I took the first step and started making moves. Now just have to keep searching, and hoping.

Any recommendations for a shop (or guy in a driveway) to get a woolwax undercoating done in the Central CT area? Saw the member in Taunton raised the price to $75 this year, which makes the trip out harder to justify.

I got the initial application done at Relabile in Colchester earlier this year due to limited options, but would ideally like to spend less than $250+ for an application.

 

I haven't used them, but I've heard Hick's Garage in Rocky Hill does Fluid Film, similar to woolwax.

I’ve had my truck Wool Waxed by a commercial garage and by the TW member in Taunton. Our fellow TW member did at least as good of application as the “professional”. I’ve travelled from CT to Taunton this fall and last fall to have our fellow TW member apply Wool Wax. And, I plan on returning next fall. It’s worth every penny of the $75.

Dropped off the truck at the local service place late evening yesterday, after they closed, via the drop box.

Got a call this AM about it. Said they re-calibrated the sensor last time, apologized for it coming back on, and said they were going to do the diagnostic free of charge. NOICE! And obviously they would because I sure as shit wasn't going to pay for it.

Said they'd let me know this afternoon.

Now we play the waiting game, again.

Just got the call from the service department.

Said this time the error code was different from the last time. This time it is coming up as the brake switch, needs a new one.

Have to order it, be there tomorrow and truck will be ready by 4pm tomorrow. Gonna cost me $350 + tax.

ARGH!

But it is what it is I guess. If it's busted, it needs to be fixed. Especially if it has something to do with the brakes. Definitely don't want to F with that.

 

And in other news....

Got a call from the Brookfield Parks & Rec job that I applied for.

It's seasonal, obviously, like the posting said. From March to November.

They want me to go in for an interview on Thursday.

I'm a lifelong Guzzi rider and I would get the Green V100.

But also the future doesn't include a new bike, family matters prevail, as I've indicated in previous posts my wife has health issues so the $$$ MUST go for her needs.

I'm making due with what I have is where I'm at.
