Yeah absolutely!! I’m glad it started a conversation and helped people get some info, don’t apologize at all I was just giving you a hard time. Feel free to post about your truck as much as you want, doesn’t bother me at all

I’m glad we can all discuss the trucks and work on building them exactly how we want.

I’m really having a hard time deciding on my next mod lol I was about to pull the trigger on the KDMax tune but then I started thinking about a bed topper, but the “more realistic” next mod would be the TRD CAI since I know the toppers are so expensive and backordered right now.

I got the 7 year warranty and the responsible part of my brain is keeping me from doing anything like a tune, just in case.

Today’s extremely minor project was adjusting the front flaring on the Prinsu. I’ve notice an absurd amount of wind noise at 40mph+ so hopefully this will mitigate that at least a little bit…

Not sure if anyone cares but I will update tomorrow when I take the truck out again.

Just found a crazy deal from an online wholesaler on the TRD CAI so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. $360 including shipping so I figured why not!

Drove about 75 miles with the front flaring of the Prinsu in the lower position and it didn’t make any noticeable difference with wind noise, in case anyone is curious.

None, brand new. Looking for ideas
That’s a good deal. I ordered some skid plates from RCI this weekend. I won’t see them until October it looks like. I’m trying to get ready to run the Rubicon Trail. I was hoping to go in September, but I’ll have to wait until next summer. I definitely can’t hit that trail without full armor.

That sounds awesome. Yeah you’d definitely tear up the undercarriage without it, I hate that most stuff is so delayed these days.

Me too. What use to be just weeks has become months. My rear bumper took nearly 6 months to come in.

Ugh that sucks. I was actually just looking at the Fab Four rear bumper last night. Not on my short list though.

Has anyone tried taking the front flare (pictured a few posts up) off the Prinsu to get rid of some of the wind noise?

I’m not sure how necessary that piece is but I’ve never seen anyone running the rack without it…

Got the KDMax tune done this morning, huge thanks to @dave5623 for taking the time to help me out.

Just from the drive home I can say that the difference is night and day. I always thought the other reviews I saw of the tune must be an exaggeration but it really does drive like a totally different truck. 100% smoother shift points and accelerates like a dream now. I highly recommend this tune for anyone who is frustrated with the Tacoma‘s automatic transmission and sluggish acceleration.

@rdvm1972 thank you for recommending the tune in the first place! Total life changing mod for someone who loves to drive lol

Look into color lugs. Plastic covers that go over the lug nuts. I got black ones for about $20 bucks east option to black them out

Thanks man! I just took the Prinsu off the other day and I’m waiting for the BillieBars to come in. Other than that, the pics are all up to date.

There are a couple variables at play here but the difference was definitely noticeable. I took the photos at the same tank level and this was the difference between 1 full tank (327 miles of driving). The roads types and traffic levels driven were identical for the two tanks.

Tank #1: With Prinsu cab rack and no tune

Tank #2: Prinsu cab rack removed and KDMax tune installed

Finally got the BillieBars installed to basically serve the purpose of a roof rack for my needs, but without the wind noise.

I can’t say enough good things about them…amazing product and awesome guys running the company. So far the Bakflip MX4 has remained waterproof.

Right now I just use the bars to hold kayaks but my next purchase will be a Roam case that will be mounted in the center of the bars. The 83L case will fit perfectly in between the 2 kayaks.

Great looking truck! Kayak setup nice as well.

Do you have any more pictures of the Black Rhino Stadiums you could share? Thinking of buying them soon but haven’t seen many on Tacomas. I like the simple look and small offset.

Thanks!! I really appreciate it. Here are a few that I don’t think I’ve put in the build thread…

    upload_2021-10-23_15-55-12.jpgupload_2021-10-23_15-55-12.jpg

I absolutely love the stadiums. I narrowed it down to the stadiums or the arsenal wheels and I’m super happy with the stadiums because I think they keep it all really clean and they’re not too flashy.

Basically exactly what you said…they’re very simple, really good looking and well designed.
