I`m not even trying to do the real ID bullshit, just trying to renew my license online. I`ll deal with the Real ID fiasco later in life...

so sick of hearing the burble tune. Bren tuning is a mile or so up the road from my house and all I hear is that bullshit on 140.

I had a neighbor when I moved to RI. Came over within the first few weeks of us moving in. Chatting about the area seemed nice enough. Saw my NH plates. Asked if I was a student. "no, just moved for a new job"....

"In that case, as a new resident you have thirty days to transfer registration of the vehicle, we all have to pay the taxes and if you don't transfer it within 30 days, people will report you" With the implication that this shit stain busy body would be the one to do it.

So that was fun. But I didn't have any issues that was back in 16.

    Oh no! Anyway...

Jokes aside - who would have guessed?! .... Anyone who has ever owned a Jeep - myself included - should be on that list. They do own the trails, I do recognize that a Wrangler IS better off-road than a Tacoma (stock to stock). Ad the gladiator is better off road too. But they break down constantly.

Yikes, happy my neighbors are cooler than this guy. I don't think I would've been able to get into the rmv within 30 days anyway lol

Theres a Statie that lives down the road from us, the renter across the street has been there for 5 years without changing his plates to MA from NY. Statie I guess gives him a lot of shit, but he won't change. Makes me smile.

You would have liked the line of cars I passed on the Pike yesterday. Probably 10-12 old cars. Chevy Nova, old Charger, Chevy SS were the noise makers, then were quite a few other classics that I couldn't get a good look at on the way by. All stock looking (and they all looked like the original owners driving them).

    Hah! That's funny.

So - RI, we have city vehicle taxes, and in providence it's 60$/1k with a 2k (might have been 5k) exemption. I really wanted to rub it in her face by trading in and getting a beater that would completely exempt me from the tax :D

It's on NADA clean value though, regardless of the condition. My coworker had an old pontiac convertible, beat up but running, more so a fun car. It was worth MAYBE 3-5k. NADA Clean was like 75k, so he would have had to pay the taxes on that 60-75k valuation. It's bananaland.

So, she was probably grumpy that others would move in and "not pay their fair share" in taxes or whatever. I understand, but DAMN lady ...

That was a nice neighborhood but the people were just shitty. I shoveled my driveway, next to us was a gravel parking lot people would rent spaces on (PS - this is probably THE best way for a revenue stream, takes little to no upkeep, you just pay for the property taxes YOY and you get the property value increase AND the parking spot revenue. Great idea in the city). After I shoveled, dude shows up with a minivan and unloads a snowblower and sends it all over my way.

I waited until he left and shoveled it RIGHT back over into their lot. F You bub.

I'm not in the city now so I just moved everything over. We have a normal house and 2 normal cars, things will level out and the city will get their monies one way or another.

I bet those cars were headed there. I was on the pike in western MA early in the morning, they could have been heading that way. They were in a convoy and I did pass a few other old cars traveling solo.

I couldn't get the birth certificate to work so I ended up using my passport card and that worked fine. I think they looked at a Boston or other big city birth certificate and assumed they're all like that. Mine looks like someone at city hall had a form that they copied onto slightly nicer paper and used a typewriter to fill in.

It's also information they already have - I had to present my birth certificate when I got my permit ~12 years ago. Then there was an issue because we had all mail going to a PO Box, so my mom had to track down a copy of the deed and homestead on the house.
