My thoughts exactly on how this is a daily but a better ride quality is always welcome.

My fronts just arrived but I’ll have to until this weekend to install them due to Tropical Storm Ida barreling in on us.

I might get the rears once they’re back in stock but then again I don’t tow or haul stuff on a regular basis so it might be overkill; thoughts?

I’m sure time is tight but to give you an idea, it took me under 20 min. I didn’t even take the wheels/tires off. First I broke both sides loose, then I used a small Jack under the front till no weight was on the tires. From there went to each side. Don’t forget a chock block in the rear, just in case.
I’ll add nothing went wrong, and there is really little that can with the way I did it. Mine is also lifted, btw.

Thanks, I think it’ll be relatively easy and quick as well to do the fronts; just pondering if I should spend the money for the rears. I don’t tow or haul stuff but then again it would be nice that they’d be there if I do load the bed

are you lifted? I could see them being felt more if you were not. But then if you are, you’d probably bottom out on the shocks than the stock stops. I have a video here a few pages back of my Timbren rears in action. I don’t think the stock stops would have ever hit lol.

No, I’m stock: 265/70/16 Duratecs came with the truck, no lift, no tow package, no camper shell. Just the factory bed mat

I did some errands, in town and some highway driving and I will say its a major improvement on an already great ride. It soaks up so much of the little things. Getting ready to install the rears this evening. If your thinking of getting the fronts, just do it and I hope I have the same review of the rear stops.

The fronts came in today so they’ll be installed this weekend, just deciding whether or not to get the rears

The rears are installed, and I have 5100s and a 1in block, larger ubolts required a 21 mm socket and called for 100 lbs or torque. Installed them on a drive on ramp, took about 15 minutes, air tools and done. The stops have about a 1/4 to a 1/2 of space. Rides great, the new rear stops kind of completes the package. I guess it's fair to say that's it feels more balanced in a good way. Cracks and man hike covers can barley be felt, some improvements in handling and the ride is better which I never had an issue with.IMG_20210913_170951400.jpg

The stock ones which of course are smaller would still hit as you can see in the picture I posted where the paint has worn off. So yes they work and even more so now. I have a small 1/4 gap now as opposed to before when there was even more space. To answer your question they do soak up bumps better unloaded however I rarely will put a load on the truck.

Psa (on my understanding and brief conversations w/rep):

The rears perform differently than the front as it seems the front is intended for stock height and contact (or minimal gap). Think full time pillow/cushion

The rears not like that- gap unloaded (likely 1/2”-1”ish) and as you get a load the rear sags and when you sag enough to make contact THATS when these benefit. They will limit/reduce further sag and give you that boost. Think air bag without the hassle of airing up/blown lines etc. If you don’t have a gap unloaded then you’ll likely have a rough ride which is what happened at the beginning when ppl were installing the 2nd gen model, then they made a shorter version for 3rd gen. Remember this is stock, if you have a lot of weight already then you might not have a gap and they are doing what they are supposed too. If you are lifted you may want to ask about spacers to raise and lessen the gap caused by the lift or go with the 2nd gen. Best to contact them directly and give them your specs and recommendations.

Let’s not start this thread with misinformation and unrealistic expectations. I seen that a lot when the confusion between 2nd/3rd gen version (4lobe or 5lobe) and giving you “a lift” then complain about rough ride. For those that get the rears but don’t tow or have a lot of weight… you likely won’t notice a huge benefit (maybe bump stops etc. not sure about off road tbh). Will it hurt no and if you ever did need to load up or tow then you’ll definitely benefit and not sag etc. don’t take my word/opinion for it- talk to a rep

my expectations for the fronts were too high tbh (from this thread). I’m going to give it more drive time before I post my thoughts. Am I disappointed, no and I’d still would of gotten them but some of these reviews seem a tad over the top (with the road cracks n such) but then again I didn’t notice all the natural truck bumps and vibrations etc being in a truck of some sort for the last 15-20 yrs. I mean it felt like a truck, normal and it didn’t stand out to me that much as it may have for others that have these higher praises. I’ll give it a week since I only drive 10 mile to and back from work to share my noticed benefits etc.

We'll... After a week of driving my truck, I dont really see a difference in driving. I am 3'' lifted and guess I don't hit hard enough bumps or pot holes. I'm assuming it meant for stock or 1-2 '' lift. Guess it's just my opinion...

Read post above and contact the company- ask if spacers would benefit you front and back

Pretty accurate assessment. I was an early adopter on the rears so I have the taller ones on what was a stock truck at the time and actually thought they worked out great. Before the lift I would have been a good candidate for the fronts, post lift? Not so much, to much gap and they aren’t really being exercised - I should probably return them but I’ll just keep them on, there are some harsher hits that I’m sure bring them into play.

For the rears, if someone has a lift I wouldn’t get a spacer, I would just get the taller SummoSprings.

Installed my fronts. I can def feel a difference. It softened up the ride a bit. Less body roll like previously reported. I'm glad I bought them.

My Specs: 5100's with stock Springs and lifted 2 inches. 10 Ply Tires.

I was able to install by just lifting the tire off of the ground. Channel Locks to take off the old Bump Stop, and a 17mm Wrench for the locking nut for the new one.

Unless you mounted it differently than the stock bump, the nylock nut is not used (or washer) with our application. The welded nut on frame and thread locker is it

Does the kit come with thread locker or do I need to go buy some?
