That's funny, all I wear are vans, even my work boots are vans. I have a pair of steal toes and never wear them.

I'm not a fan of steel toes if I don't have to wear em either, makes my step weird because of the rigidity.

I second this question. I was welding my spring hangers Friday in flip flops, clearly that was a mistake.

TxDOT requires us to wear steel toe when driving a state vehicle. They cover up to $100 on any pair of boots as long as it’s a real steel toe. Not sure how they’re rated.

When I worked for Valspar they required them when setting up stores. They did the same thing pying up to $100 on them.

Interesting that they require steel. We get composite, I think because of the need for electrical hazard rating, but I could be making that up.

    I have mods
Chucks is about all I wear any more. I've always liked and been most comfortable with a minimalist type shoe. I've got great arches and don't need additional support for them and too much padding bugs me. Even with Vans, I pull out the padded liner and go without one at all.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I need to get some type of shoe that I can wear in the garage that will hold up when they get soaked in kerosene, oils, parts cleaner, and etc. Any shoe I wear with a glued sole comes apart fairly quickly.

Learned a pro tip guys... tap your rod BEFORE welding together! Or get a better vise/better soft jaws on said vise lol20210914_084828.jpg

@Kwikvette this is what amateur TIG welding on stainless looks like, alot of metal discoloration from being to hot or too close with your electrode, wire wheels are the best friend to amateur welders of stainless steel. Make sure it's a stainless wire wheel or shits gunna rust
