If test ride the two 300s first. I’ve owned the XT225, XT250 and ridden the DRZ400 quite a bit (and KLR, really want a DR650 next).

The reason I bring it up is if you’re liking the light, small, nimble feel of the two bikes you have the two 300s will be a better replacement. I dig the DRZ, but it’s a bit more of a do-all pig for me to enjoy it. Maybe the exact opposite for someone else though so take it for what it’s worth, very little ha.

I never use it but I know facebook market place has become the hot spot to find good cheap stuff that people want to fire sale, i would suggest looking there as well, all the mini forum people mention thats where all the good for sale listings have migrated to

    Good Points.

The problem is finding one of the new 300s.

My thought was getting a DRZ used, if I dont like it I should be able to sell it for what I paid for it, and maybe by then the CRF300 will be more available

Good thoughts for sure. Depends how long your riding season is. We ordered a Grom for the wife in May, were told June. Then July, August, September. She probably won’t ride it until next season at this rate.

Used is smart if you can find a good price. That market is high now too.

I’ve been known to swap out from my flip flops to crocs when I’m welding. I’ve gotten hot BBs stuck in the webbing between my toes and it’s not pleasant.

Fwiw, the 300L supply chain is getting better. The one my nephew picked up was a floor model, but non-ABS. Only about a month out for ABS at the dealer we used

My riding season is whacky due to work and fire season.

I am in North AZ and you would think that my riding season would be april till oct,
I find myself riding year round, with most of my miles in the winter due to fire season closures and involuntary overtime

Good to know. I lean towards the Honda, coming from a CRF250, but I am curious about the kawa as well.

I wish they hadnt killed the WR250R

Miss my 225… I will own an XT250 again one day or another. Would even like a TW200 “for the wife” those would be perfect for the woods there.

The xt225 is an awesome bike, it will go anywhere you are brave enough to take it.
I put 3k+ miles on it over the winter, but it was hard on my knees and I wanted more power

I sure do miss having a bike with a 4 gallon tank that got 75 mpg, the range on it was silly

Back in the day (that means I’m an old greybeard) the dresser with the stretched bags was the milk cow. It would be the second bike in the left column on a run. Right bag was stuffed with beer on ice. You would work your way up the column to the milk cow and the barmaid would had you or your ol lady a fresh beer without slowing the speed of the column. Of corse back then you could drink and drive in Texas, I think.

I’m only 33 but I have a few long silver strands of hair in my ever-growing beard so that phrase always makes me smirk. :D
