I am going to update the entertainment nav etc system in my 2012 Dbl Cab. Most likely a speaker (nothing over the top) update plus whatever I decide unit like the 10" Stinger etc.

So what's out there. Which unit is best when trying to have a full-service large screen reliable centerpiece unit? Please share, what, where, and why info.

    Thanks, Pearson

Check the options on Crutchfield. Really depends on what features you want. I'm thinking of picking up a double din with Android Auto at some point on down the road.

Never heard of stinger personally. I'm biased towards Alpine and Pioneer.

Yeah me to. Right up until I saw the stinger. Hold a moment and I'll post a link.

I just looked that model up, and holy crap it's huge. Not my jam personally. I feel like all the new cars these days have these huge tablet sized headunits and it's honestly not what I want in my truck.
I was thinking about getting this one. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500ILXW650/Alpine-iLX-W650.html

Never heard of the stinger unit but people have been installing the Joying units. The company has a good reputation for the Android Headunit Markets and are at a fair price. I ordered mine and should be here any day. They make a 11,10,9 and inch screen models. I went with the 9”. Here’s a link if you want to check them out. https://www.joyingauto.com/head-unit/u-z/toyota/tacoma.html

That is a nice unit and you can't go wrong with Alpine. 7" screen and 50x4 power, it has everything that is needed. And is much easier to swallow than the Stingers $1200 price tag for sure.

I think you may have converted me, I can put the head unit, Amp, and speakers in my Taco going this way and still be within the cost of the Stinger unit alone. I'm differently going to do more research.
