Apparently the owner had it checked out and is deemed safe for now, but I'm still a little leary. Hope this will be our last winter here. The house budget should increase by 25% this Spring so more options should be out there to get the Hell off this mountain...

I converted some unused space above my garage into a storage area not long after we moved in.

I watched it being built so I knew the space was there. I cut a hole in the ceiling and installed some pull down stairs. Reinforced the bottoms of the trusses with 2x6s and floored it in. Finished it up with some lighting.

Had a pretty good sized late lunch so dinner was made light. Figured I'd share my creation; Spicy Shin Ramyun noodles, kimchi, broccoli, and mushrooms. Yea no meat, not this time...



Yea some of you will go WTF is that, but it's something different. I like throwing different things in there, most of the time it comes out good...

 

I was fortunate enough to be able to cut the ceiling between the trusses and buy a set of pull downs from Lowes that fit the space

I'm mostly a meat and taters kind of guy, but my vegetarian co-worker has been expanding my pallet a little bit. These noodles are great for a quick meal and are about $1.50 each at the Asian market or Amazon. Throwing whatever leftover vegetables or meat in there is a great way to use up leftovers. I enjoy cooking and baking so it's something easy for me to throw together. Yea, sodium is a little up there if you're sensitive to it, but I'm one to watch that stuff.
