Mine didn't drive right out until I gave each of them a large helping of plasma. After that, the remains ran out with the air hammer.

I like that I can start and stop my service with Bivy Stick. Only using it when I am planning on being out of reach.

I do think so. It looks the same without the trailer.

not sure how the rates compare but you can do that with garmin too. I just get the annual plan because it’s a few bucks cheaper and I play in the backcountry year round.

not trying to sell you by any means but It’s nice to have options.

After looking into the Bivy Stick It seems really nice they do it by credits instead of a plan. But does that mean you just use a credit per message or something like that? If so I would only use a credit a year or so Vs needing to pay for a plan. With Garmin isn't it a month by month thing?

Said goodbye to it. Sold it after 6 years or ownership. Fantastic truck, but the gas mileage and how good the market is right now made it hard to keep. Paid 21k 6 years ago, got 21K yesterday.6A80927E-FEAA-4D21-B079-1E24C6397598_1_105_c.jpg

I understand the lure of the market prices. That is why I sold my 2016 with 25k miles (paid $30.5k new and sold 5.5 years later for $30.5k). You may regret it later. I sold a 2008 with 59k miles after I bought my 2016. The longer I owned the 2016, that got 18 mpg city/25 mpg hwy, the more I regretted selling the 2008. The mpg is better on the 3rd gen. The 2nd gen truck is a MUCH better truck. Sold the 3rd gen and bought 2 2nd gens. Now I am happy and do not care about mpg any more. I know what I have is the best generation of Tacoma with much better power and reliability.

If I get back in a Tacoma it would be a 2nd gen reg cab 4x4. I just don’t need even a “mid-size” truck these days. I had all the intentions of off roading and overlanding with the family, but it’s not in the cards with kids getting older etc. I placed an order for the new small hybrid Ford Maverick a few weeks ago. 40mpg and 8 year warranty for close to what I got for the Tacoma. Same payload capacity and I don’t tow anything. Just fits my life much better.

after reading the bivy stick basic plan it's $17.99 per month but the credits only roll over if you keep the monthly plan active.

Garmin it's $11.95/month for the basic annual plan and $14.95 for the monthly plan that you can pause at any time.

My buddy owns a Toyota junk yard and he told me that 2nd gen tacomas are best trucks out there.

Started my Clazzio install today (3rd Tacoma-2nd truck in the last month). Love the covers. Don't love installing them. Got to do passenger seat and then let them breathe and de-wrinkle a couple of days before I tweak them. Tight as a glove. This pair was only $233.10 delivered.
    20210915_153949.jpg
Done except for a final tweak in a few days. Takes time for wrinkles to go away.

When I took my heads to the local engine shop they said the same, the 3.5 isnt in the same league as far as longevity.

Short of the head gasket issue he said my heads were almost perfect, they are doing alot of 3.5 heads from local dealers for various reasons.

It's funny you said that. In my area I think a Toyota salvage yard would go belly up. I cannot find a Tacoma in salvage yards in my region. I guess people don't junk them. I just needed a couple of small trim pieces for my sons truck and having no luck finding used Tacoma parts near me. There was a 2009 V6 Prerunner AC with 160k on craigslist today, was a repo with an engine knock, that is selling for $5500. If I had the time I would have bought it. Would be a good truck, even replacing the 4.0, for under $9k. Fuzzy pictures but body looked clean and straight.
