I haven't dropped it on the 4R, but did twice on the Prerunner.

Jacked from the front cross member, with stands on the frame.

Didn't have to mess with steering rack bolts myself as I've read some people do and others don't.

I never knew sigs went away in portrait mode actually; I always used this site on my work PC.

So once it's jacked and the alignment bolts are out, you should be able to just swing it down right?
Can you do it without taking the wheels off?

You have a lot of little projects to get done on that. I get the don't wannas, I need to finish the rear on the 97 and I need to do all the front joints on the 4runner. Plus I go back to work Monday and Monica goes back to school. Hope the 4runner front end holds together for another 2 weeks.

I had the wheels off, remember undoing the bolts, but also undid the LBJ as I replaced the LBJ's that day.

Another project to add is, installing all the black interior trim parts.

Just before I vacated the apartment I thought "oh, I'll quickly swap the parts over"

Pulled a window switch real quick which takes 2 seconds, only to see that the switch connector is completely different. The pinout varied slightly, but had the same number of pins.

Really, I could just undo the "trim" from the switch itself but without a flathead screw driver and other little tools, I didn't want to risk breaking any tabs.

Surprised that even though both models use the same switches IE window up/down and mirror adjustment, and they're both the same year, the plug style differs between my Limited and the SR5 it came from.

You should be able to get the front end together real quick for Monica!

Hard part is waiting for parts to arrive.

What all does the 4R need anyway?

I ran into the same issue when I swapped out the mirrors. The white 4runner mirrors had a different conector then then the black 4runner mirrors. Not sure if they are the same year. I just made some jumper wires to fix the problem.
The front end other than the torn cv boot does not look bad but I did get some vibration when breaking at 55mph and not knowing how long any of the joints have been on it I would rather just replace it.
I will be driving it till I change it out. I'd rather it brake on me then on her.

Right, so I'm wondering if jacking it up will relieve enough tension to just pull it down but keep it relatively in place

Why wouldn’t you just take the LCA off? Much easier
