I hope the helmet isn’t painful, I remember wearing a retainer and the aching it caused just pushing teeth.

She finally got her helmet yesterday... she’ll wear one for 18 months and this is her first one. Praying that it works and she does look pretty cute as a little Powderpuff girl.

Parker has been doing pretty good lately aside from a virus that caused some concern but she is better now. If you are interested we are participating in a fundraiser for Hydrocephalus research... feel free to donate if you feel like doing so. Thanks!

I know this is the Say a Prayer for Parker thread, but I need to ask everyone for prayer favor.

My golf buddy Kevin, 58, and an ex LEO, passed away from covid early Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM!

We stayed in touch via text messages from when he first told me he was going for a covid test because he had a 105 degree fever and was bringing up green phlegm. He was admitted to the hospital and was in for almost 30 days. He developed blood clots in his legs and lungs - his pulmonary doc attributed it to covid and his liver had an infection. He was on blood thinners and steroids and was using a nebulizer; thank God he was not intubated but on O2 all the time as he had a very difficult time breathing. He said he didn't get much sleep because of the breathing situation and that scared him a lot. He recently told me that when they retested him it came back positive, possibly residual covid his daughter said (she's an RN in same hospital he was in). He was fighting very hard. His fever finally dropped, the liver infection was clearing up and his O2 levels were high the last few days. He thought he was doing better but then boom, covid threw him another punch.

He told me he saw a story about a pro golfer who was in a hospital for 30 days with covid, had double pneumonia and survived and went home and played in a pro golf tourney. He told me that if he could do it so could Kevin. He was a very religious man and his spirits were always high. When I asked him if he went on any trips recently he said he went to AC (Atlantic City) a while before he came down with covid - I don't know if it was to a casino or to play golf. I asked about a mask and he told me he didn't wear one and that it wasn't required. He wasn't vaxxed and neither was his wife who tested negative for covid. He never said to me that he regretted not wearing a mask or not getting the vaccine!

Take what you will from this, but every person has to make their own decisions on how they want to deal with covid.

Please keep Kevin, his family and me in your prayers! His funeral is on Friday. I thank you for listening to me.
