yeah, not sure there's much you can do about that anymore. its been so busy so down there the last few years
A favorite thing I used to do (works better if you have a lot of people in one car...) is to pull over at an empty turnout and have everyone jump out with cameras/binoculars at the ready and just start pointing in the distance. as soon as another car stops they'll ask what you see. most effective is to tell them there's a bear or wolves out there and give some vague description of something WAAAAAY in the distance. more cars will stop, more people will be crowding around trying to figure out what everyone else is looking at. once a good traffic jam has formed just quickly and quietly get back in the car and drive away. got the whole road to yourself for a while...at least until they all figure out there's NOTHING out there.

 

but so much fun! and effective

 

the trick with buffalo is that if the cars stop, they stop. gotta keep moving or everyone is screwed.

I do feel bad about missing you guys this year! honest! I just couldn't bring myself to deal with the crowds this summer. I haven't been to Yelly in almost a year. So weird for me...I usually go 10x's a year. I'm supposed to be in Grand Teton next weekend (made camping reservations months ago) and I've thought more than once this week about canceling. And you know if I'm thinking twice about going moose hunting its gotta be bad!

 

Gros Venture....they have mooses. Most of my usual mooses hang out within a few miles of that camp. And sometimes they're right IN camp!
