That's what I thought, I mean like I don't mind waiting for the truck, but them giving me a date, and then pushing it back every time I ask for an update is frustrating.

Oh well, from what I've seen here, usually it arrives 1-2 months after their order, so hopefully mine too!

Waited about 3 weeks for the first one and 2 weeks for the second one. The next day I saw a truck load of Tacoma's on a carrier.

My truck was built on Friday last week. I got this from the dealer today:

“Your vehicle is built and is sitting on a rail car or at the logistics park in Chicago. It is scheduled to arrive between Sep 29 and Oct 4”

I did take an allotment on a '21 TRD OR. Built on 7/22, delivered to dealer on 8/12. The factory gave approval for added options.
Looks like only change is the 22's have disc brakes on the rear now ?

It's 4X4. I was honestly opting for the cement or quicksand colour, however, sales manager said it probably will take a while to get a tacoma with those colours.

Do what you need to do to get there and go post in the LR thread when you do. We'll only be a rare Tacoma color for a little bit longer until those 22's start rolling in.

This will, finally, be my last transmission in this thread. Hopefully I can add something more the the LR thread by the end of next week!

What a run it has been.

I just got an email from my dealer, and they’re all confused. Toyota charged them today for my truck, which typically means it has either arrived or will arrive in the next 24 hours. However, at the same time Toyota charged them, they also pushed the delivery date back by two days until September 22nd. ‍♂️

Got a call from the dealer...my truck is in. She sent photos and videos, but I'm gonna wait to post my own. Now I just have to find someone to drive me two hours up the road so I can buy it.

We switched dealerships. Actually got a rough ETA of November/December time frame and that it will almost certainly be a '22 model. Hopeful we'll have something more concrete, like a temp VIN soon. Salesman was more forthcoming than the last.

I’m in the same boat. Got a TRD sport 6M allocated to me and was told it was a 2022. I was given a delivery date of December 3rd as of now.

Picked up my 21 TRD OR last night. Here was my timeline.
8/20 - picked it out from the dealerships allotment
    9/7- temp vin stopped working
9/16- truck showed up that morning. Dealership spent most the day cleaning it and adding the window tint. Was ready for me to pick up by 6PM. Truck was built in Baja MX, shipped to San Diego port and transferred to Phoenix area.

One thing I find interesting is that my truck (I'm sure this can be generalized) showed up on toyota.com when it had the temp vin, for about 72 hours. It vanished once it was built. The thing showed up this week -2ish months later- on my dealer's website and is showing as "in transit."

I had a temp VIN for a month or so. It was built this past Friday. VIN stopped working Saturday and showed up as in transit on dealers website. He said yesterday that it on a rail car and either en route to Chicago or is already there
