Drained Radiator Coolant, Filled Reservoir But I Know More Needs to Go In

    OP, I'm not your Mom or your Father, but IMHO....you should sell your mechanics tools and only use a shop or the dealer to service your truck.

    Consider yourself fortunate that the engine did not overheat. There might have been enough coolant in the block to allow the engine to survive the removal of a critical fluid.

    Curious.......

    How did you dispose of the coolant you drained???

    Is there actually a valve that turns on and off water flow through the heater core, always though they were just an air damper and water always circulated.

    Not positive but a quick Google said there is a valve that opens I assume when you turn temp control to heat. Just a guess not positive
