Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Off the subject but since your a movie guy; funny I started a movie a week or more ago and it looked like it was going to be a not so good so I shut it off, went to bed. Anyway finish watching it last night and pretty good. Called, Nobody.

Little lathe work, now to the mill. Luckily it’s 304 stainless and not 316.

 

I gotta be careful with Crows one of the first Females on Moms side of the family was said to be able to be a crow at times

 

Guess I shoulda been more specific. These bearings are permanently lubricated, the roller pins inside are encased in a sort of plastic. It's a terrible setup, but someone smarter than me figured it was...

I believe it is called a solid polymer lubricant. They are some expensive bearings!

 

That looks annoying.

 

Yea and they have a high failure rate so that gets really expensive. They have some newer same style equipment with the rollers having external sealed bearings that are greaseable. Those have no issues, that's why they approved a retrofit on the older 12 units.

 

I see it as a challenge

My dad has some old Snap On tools like that, I like the compression tester

 

I've still got most of those tools, including almost a dead ringer for that timing light, in my shop. Can't beat a good Tach/Dwell meter for working on a mechanical distributor!

 

As in, "My Name is Nobody" with Terrence Hill, or a different one?

 

Before I picked up that tube in the tune up kit, I wondered if it was lube for the distributor cam gear...sure enough!

 

@Fargo Taco probably remember the names in it. I'm drawing a blank to one guy's name but he used to be on a evening or late night detective show. Man he hardly looks aged at all!
