Fixed resolution with CarPlay in Split screen mode.
Fixed issue with Wireless Android auto not connecting
Added Backup app to view reverse camera anytime
Added FOTO System updater - have not used yet

    May 22, 2023 Update
Fixed the bug that a black screen may appear when starting
Updated android auto to support some mobile phones to support wireless functions
    Optimized the system

    November 14, 2023 Update
    The updated content is
    1. Compatible with the latest ios17.03 and android auto.
    2. WiFi and carplay can be used at the same time.
    3. Fixed the bug that the screen may go black during sleep.
    4. Optimized the system.
    5. Separate volumes for music and calls in CarPlay.

    1. Download file, do not change the name do not unzip. The name should be "update_e.zip" ~1.2gb
    2. Save to root folder of flash drive.(confirm flash drive can be read by radio first)
    3. Plug into one of the USB ports, System updater should automatically pop up.
    4. Click update, unit will reset when complete. I needed to reload my wallpaper and re-pair bluetooth.

    -----AC Hot Cold Swap-----
If you have this issue on the new 2022 model I happened to come across a fix.

If you hold the front panel defrost button(right side third one down) for about 10 seconds then let it go. It will swap the temperature settings to make hot cold and cold hot.

This is a test unit. I am working with the manufacturer to work out some wiring issues and ac issues. Should be ready soon.

I’ll post some videos of it soon.

I like this a lot. I imagine the price will be out of the range of what I'd want to spend. But, figure out how to make it play videos any time too. Instead of not having video while in drive.

Had one in my GX. The chinglish was awful, menu items that did absolutely nothing because these units are a universal android platform with a vehicle specific harness and outer fascia. Multiple EQs overlayed.

Had to buy a Russian guys custom firmware to fully unlock certain features that should’ve come that way from factory.

Glad to see the Tacoma version will at least retain physical buttons. On screen HVAC is terrible without haptics and an accident hazard.

The screen brightness/visibility is god awful during sunny days.

Sound was good though with the factory amp I had once I dialed it in.

how is the BT suporrt with BT5? Other android HU do not connect to many BT items but do connect to the phone and oBD readers. In my current one I hoped to connect to things like switch pro, battery monitor, fridge etc that have BT functions.

I haven’t tried connecting anything else. I’ll have to try and find something to connect it to.

def let us know. The other android HU only seems to connect to phones and ODB readers. You could likely try almost anything. I had no luck with anything else. You would think with BT it would work but nope.

It should be noted that this unit will not work if you have JBL in your truck. I received an email from Aucar stating that won’t be ready for a couple more weeks and if you want the TPMS to work with your vehicle you need to purchase their sensors. They also said their internal sensors will work on alloy wheels. I’m excited for the JBL unit to be released to get this in my truck.

If anyone wants more info I made an install video. I go over the UI at the end.

Go easy on me, not a professional Youtuber, just a mechanic.

Just to be clear I am getting a discount on a new unit for making the video. Not sure what's going to happen to this test unit, maybe they will let me keep it and I can load some custom firmware on it.
