did that intake actually help gas mileage? Everything I've read says probably not, or no. If it does, I may be interested...

it did for me, everyone that says it does not help A) does not have an intake B) does not plan on using anything else besides there stock setup c) just looking for something to gripe about

i for one seen a mpg then again hearing the engine roar while driving was an added thing :D:cool:, i for one also say better airflow is always better, and you really cant go wrong having a sealed intake especially with all the dust and ish here in nm.

Sealed doesn't make it "better" My urd style intake will actually be more efficient than yours will because mine is out in the open compared to yours only being under the hood and having to draw in air thru the intake hole in the fender. The reason they do have a closed element is because you are under the hood and you want to prevent the intake from getting heat soak. The stage 2 si is a great intake none the less and you will see an increase in MPG if you use it for that but most people complain that they don't see an increase but that is because they are d-bags and think because they hammer on the throttle just as much as they used then they should see an increase in MPG.... That is not the case... If you use it for the power you will use more fuel than you used to.... Most performance mods can give you better gas mileage or better hp. You can't have both though. You can use it for the power or the gas saver... Lets say you have a lead foot and you are stock and you compare it to someone that has the same type of driving style as you do but he has an intake.... The guy with the intake will have worse MPG than the one that was stock because like I said.... It's either power or gas. Your choice.

Has anyone dealed with Sears tire department? From what i've read...in their policy it states that they wont install tires that don't meet the manufactures safety and tire specs..would that mean that they wouldnt install 285's on the taco??

Damn ramon...people complain about how bright my lights are(fully adjusted pointed down) and your fogs are x10 brighter than mine..do you get flipped off alot? lol

And with the intake thingy..i say stick to stock.. i just swapped my K&n back to stock..with the K&N i got 17-18 with 265's and i'm getting 21-22 mpg city...when i had 285's and the K&N i was getting around 14... unless i got on the i-40 to get around to places..then i'd get 20mpg doing 70.

I'll do some more research. I don't really care about power, I dont really do anything that needs power.
