I was thinking of Christopher Lloyd, I must be mistaken him for someone else that was on a show like Barney Miller or something.
Christopher Lloyd was Doc in Back to the Future. ? Anyway he has a good role in the movie too.

Sorry, I thought you meant the main character, not his dad.

Christopher Lloyd did have one of the best lines in the movie:

"You brought a lot of shotguns."
"You brought a lot of Russians."

Yes sir. Not sure why, it was tight (hammered it a tad). 1/2" solid carbide end mill, 1,000 rpm feeding it by hand .050" depth of cut. End mill shattered and part of it hit me in the stomach. Not much blood, lol.

It would be nice to squeeze this from the side but I have to cut .375" off and it's 3/4" stock :D

Found a piece of the end mill, thank God it didn’t go in me.

Yeah, I kind of figured. Waste is of no concern at my work, so sometimes I would look at something and see if I could cut it long enough to hang out both sides of the vise. Lots of options, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Perhaps the square collett chuck on smaller diameter:notsure:

I thought about that but there's a tapped hole in the small diameter I'd like to do while I have it in the vise. I'm going to try it again like I had it with a couple extra whacks on the hammer, more rpm's, and see what happens, may have to go back to the lathe for a minute

Or make a fixture to hold it and turn the smaller OD afterwards. Your a very skilled machinist, no doubt you'll get it knocked out.

You may even get a little better clamp with both parts in there on each end, providing the lengths are close.
:rofl:because I know that you know all this already :D

Success!! Now to poke some holes in it.

Pay no attention to those bad spots on the jaws, they obviously got in the way at some point.
