Hey all, A series of events lead me to getting an ARB bumper for a price that I just couldn't refuse. Long of the short of it is my suspension is starting to sag in the front and creak in the rear (my thoughts are the bushings are starting to go) So I might as well replace everything!

I've been in talk with 4wheelparts Canada and got them to piece a lift together for me. Here's the list of goodies they came up with...

    EL111R OME medium duty coils
    OMESB108 Leaf Bushings
    OMEU53B U-bolts
    ARB2886 Coils
    Blistein 5100 Shocks

All for $1673.44 out the door.

So, just some questions on it now.

My end goal is to achieve 2inches of lift in the front and raise the rear to try and keep some rake as I end to haul my motorbike off a hitch carrier. When I go camping I also tend to keep the bed under load and might end up with a rear swing out tire carrier next summer (hence the medium duty leafs)

    Time for some questions!

    1. The guy I spoke to said that as of right now I could get 1.75 inches of lift but I could adjust the 5100s to 2 inches. That doesn't seem right to me. Isn't the shock restricted by the coil?

    2. With the OME rear leafs raising the end 2.75 inches would the 5100 shocks be able to keep up and not bottom out?

    3. Are the 886 coils the right choice for the front end? I only have an ARB bumper on right now but once my old man retires I'll be buying a Warn XD9000 off him.

    4. Lastly, will I have any drive line issues going this high? I know about diff dropper kits and how they're not entirely essential for a lift this size but I just thought i'd double check. Will there be any vibrations or is that something I just have to look out for?

Did I miss anything? Any comments? Concerns? Are you bored out of your mind reading another lengthy lift kit post?

    Thanks for all the help!

    1. No, the Shock/Coil over limits the spring.
    (It’s holding it in/together)

    2. I believe the 5100s only allow for 1” of extra travel.
With 2.75 rear lift, you will loose 1.75” of down travel. But gain up travel.

    4. I myself wouldn’t run the diff drop. Some guys do.
You may or may not get vibs. Might as well order a ECGS Bushing and install it.
Just for good measure, plus it will be a little bit easier to install with the coil out of the way.

    Good luck to you.
You also may want to wait around and see what others have to say.

Thanks TnShooter! Sorry but could I get a little clarification on the 1st one? Would I be able to get 2 inches flat out of the shock/coil? And do you have any recommendations for a rear shock so I can avoid wrecking anything if I hit something hard? Or would the bump stop take the majority of the impact?

I do not have the answer to that.
The 886’s are not recommended for use in 5100’s.

You might want to look into the 884 or 885 springs.
With the number and winch you’ll probably want a little over 2” to get down to 2” with weight.
Refer to the chart above as to what will work best for you.

As for bump stops, you are probably going to be more concerned with down travel.
That’s the amount your suspension can droop down.

    Same crap everyone else got
i had 885 springs with my front lo pro bumper and winch. It sagged. I had to change to 886's and it's rides fine and gives the lift I want. I do run JBA UCA also. I wouldn't hesitate to run the 886's with 5100 in your situation b/c that bumper is heavy. I run a single aal in the rear but it sags lower than the front b/c I have a camper shell. I need to replace with a proper lift pack soon.

Honestly I think I might just go for the full OME kit.. 2inches of lift.. only thing is its $2000 give or take which whatever I guess. I daily the truck, it has everything i need. I think it'll be the way to go.
