Mind telling us what fuses you added a fuse?

Yeah, minor wrinkle on the parking light feed but low beam is probably totally fine. It doesn’t dim much really.

I think my board is on the fritz. It’s blinking the over voltage error codes even when it’s straight to the negative and positive on the battery and all the accessories undone off the bus bar. I’ve ran a voltage meter to check for shorts and can’t find anything. Cleaned all the contacts… even though they looked fine. It’s set up on a Power Tray using bus bars. My biggest draw is the center section of my Caliraised dual function lightbar at 21amps in slot 8 the Amber is in slot 7. Driving, Bumper and hood are either SS2 or SS3’s. Cargo and hood are the Matt Gecko light strips, side lights are 4 Baja rock lights daisy chained together on my rack and the trigger for my compressor. I don’t think I’m anywhere close to exceeding any Amp draw. All my wiring is sleeved and I used waterproof connectors and shrink wrapped them for overkill. It worked flawless until a week ago and goes into protection mode now. Can anyone think of anything I may have over looked before I make a call to Switch-Pros?

 

Call switchpro and they will give you directions on how to do a hard reset on it. I’ve seen this happen once in about 3yrs. Was out with a buddy camping, happened to his, called switchpro and that’s what they advised us to do. Battery voltage was correct and all accessories disconnected. Just a small glitch. They have great customer service. Just be there with the truck and ready to follow directions as far as disconnecting or holding down certain buttons at once.

 

Sweet! I did a reset through the app. Works for about 10 minutes and goes back into protection mode. Definitely going to give them a call when I get a chance. Thanks for the info

 

From my experience with my SwitchPro I would guess that your problem would be similar to my problem. I would suggest check the control module. Reconnect your wires as whatever your normal set up would be and check the module. There could be a short/disconnect inside the module itself towards the surface of the module. Squeeze/pinch with your fingers in the area next to connection of the communication cable on the module, while doing that check to see if there is a change to normal on the SwitchPro app and/or switch panel itself, or both. Hopefully that makes sense to you.

 

yea this can be it as well. Check your harness and also make sure you have a good ground

 

I think the communication cable will most likely be fine, unless you suspect rodents to have been chewing on it. It doesn't hurt to check the cable for your peace of mind and to rule that out as not being the deficiency.

 

Little update because I hate it when things get asked and there’s no follow up. Made the call to tech ran though the steps and it wouldn’t connect properly. They asked for me to mail it in and they tested it and determined it was bad and sent another power module out today. That’s damn good customer service in my opinion.

Updated pic of current use. Switch Pro 9100 in SDHQ mount also have the SDHQ under hood mount. FYI the "Power" button is my my winch, (via WARN Power interrupt kit for safety). LMK if anyone makes a "Winch" switch sticker that matches.

 

Where did you end up mounting the power interrupt solenoid? Would you mind posting a picture?

Also, they do make a “Windless” sticker in their marine set.

 

Gents - Any help here would be appreciated. I have a SP 9100 with the Power Tray Kit for a 2020 Sport. The initial wire is complete but I’m not entirely sure where to hook up the following (photo of setup and available power and ground cables)

1. Can/Should the 9100 ground cable be connected to the bus bar? If so do you then ground the bus bar directly to the negative battery terminal?
2. Do you connect the supplied power cable from the “battery” screw on the 9100 to the fuse box then another power cable to the battery?

 

1. The ground wire for the

SP9100 should go directly to the negative terminal to the battery.
2. The supplied cable can go directly from the power input on the SP9100 to the positive post on the battery. The cable should be fused, which is supplied in-line.

 

Thanks for your response. Then would you run a separate power cable from the battery to the supplied fuse box on the power tray? And a separate negative from the negative battery terminal to the bus bar? (I added arrows to the photo below)

 

I have the same setup. The black stubby negative is not used. Also the original red power cable (unwrapped one) from the SwitchPro isn't used.

1. The long ground cable will go from the negative bus bar to the battery.
2. One power cable with inline fuse (120a) will go from switchpro positive to the battery.
3. Second power cable with inline fuse (100a) will go from the fuse block to the battery.

For the 3 trigger wires, I drilled a small hole in the fuse box on the upper left (when viewing from front of truck) and routed the 3 wires into the fuse box, then siliconed the hole/wires in place. You'll see an empty spot and then i used a small drill bit. Then just tapped the fuses using add-a-fuse for the headlight and ignition as posted in the first post of this thread. I haven't wired up the trigger wire yet, just cut shorter and taped off for now.

 

I just unclipped the factory wiring harness and stuffed the 3 wires in there. No drilling required and easy to return to factory if ever needed
