And I just have to say, if you live in east Tennessee, Toyota of Cleveland has been the absolutely best dealership that I've ever worked with. I talked to about 15 dealerships trying to find a truck. Most of them either didn't want my business or wanted to overcharge me. These guys were all great throughout the entire process.

Man, the wait is excruciating! Im biting my nails waiting for my truck to show up, or at least an update that it is en-route to dealer. I don't know how the rest of you have handled this anticipation.....

    Deposit made on 8/11/21
Given an ETA for delivery of Mid to Late October
Truck is a 2021 Manual Transmission PRO in MGM color

Im new to the Tacoma world, coming from the world of modified WRX's. Ironically, WRX to Tacoma transitions seem to be a theme in the land of Tadcos! Living in the PNW, the Tacoma is much more suited to my adventuring than my WRX. Main hobbies are snowboarding and Mountain Biking but I camp frequently and enjoy the outdoors. Im looking forward to pop up steak dinners in the Tacoma, throw the gear in the back and just wander until I find an awesome spot to grill.....

In the meantime Ive been researching the hell out of introductory mod paths based on what I think I will be doing with the truck, already have a healthy selection of introductory mods on the way, even though I have no exact date when truck will be here, lol...... With current lead time situations the goal is to have some stuff here when truck arrives so I can begin immediately exploring what the Tacoma can do and figure out what my long term goals/use will be.

My intro mods are: RCI rock sliders, BA Hi-line front bumper, Warn Winch, 20 inch heretic light bar for front bumper, heretic ditch lights, switch pros panel switch system, and a handful of interior goodies. Still researching what is a good kit for basic recovery gear and how to use it.

Im hoping this is a good start to get me out on some trails for some introductory off roading and I can start dialing the truck in. I would like to get some undercarriage armor going along with a roof rack.

Any one else using their Tacoma for transporting mountain bikes? The simple thing to do is use a tailgate pad which I plan to do but as my build progresses Im thinking I will be headed down the bed rack/RTT route and trying to figure out the best options for bike shuttling without removing front wheel from bikes. Seen a few bedrack systems with moutain bike racks but haven't seen anything just yet that is calling my name.

Anyway, just wanted to share and hopefully network on this site some to help me along my Taco journey. Would love to start meeting people/groups in my area that are open to newbies to explore/adventure with..

    Thanks All!

Not so into mountain biking myself these days, however my sister is into biking in general, I got her a latchit rack for her wedding present for her Tacoma, she seems to like it. It latches into the tailgate latches and you can lock it in place with your tailgate lock, then it has locks for your bikes as well. Only downside I could see is that your rear camera wouldn’t be usable as the tailgate would be down. And good luck on the Tacoma btw. I’m also in the pnw. Tacoma,wa actually… go figure I’ll be driving a Tacoma.

Congrats. We did not make it to Cleveland, that was next on our list. Purchased from an allotment at Fox Toyota, Clinton. No over charges, all good, we received more for our '18 4X4 4Runner, then what we paid 4/18.

Happy for you, Keith12, that's a beauty! Just received a text from my salesman saying my Taco could drop any day now! Man, almost 4 1/2 months is a long wait.

After 5.5 months of waiting, my truck just showed up at the dealership today!!!

    That's the good news.

The bad news is that my husband has been very sick with something and is realistically too sick to bring him in to the dealership for a few days. We're both going to be on the loan so I really can't just go get it myself.

After 5.5 months... what's another few days right? :sadviolin:
It's okay, you may all feel sorry for me now haha

Scratch that, I’m not feeling sad… my wait is over. The truck is real. Dealer just sent pictures. :dancingbacon:

Can’t wait to pick it up!

Portland, OR, here…looking forward to the same truck in white. It’s definitely a test of patience, but that’s what this support group is for! Out of curiosity, with all your anticipated mods, have you considered how all that static weight will impact your approach angle without a lift? Great ideas that I’ve considered, but it’d be a shame to buy a pro and gut out a big reason why we purchase them.

Awesome! I am sure it is well worth the wait, so I hear..... lol!

I have considered the impact of the weight and the stock fox suspension. The few mods I am adding initially (sliders/bumper/winch/lightbar) hopefully won't impact suspension to much but it is adding roughly 170ish lbs for the bumper/winch and 120ish lbs for the slider. Adding roughly 300ish lbs to the truck, I haven't really come across anything that indicates this setup/additional weight may be a problem for the stock suspension. However, adding much more weight than that the suspension may not perform as initially intended.

For me, Im new to the land of Tacoma's and have a lot to learn/explore. I am wanting to just drive her for a bit on stock suspension setup and learn the trucks, and my, capabilities/intended use/etc...

The bumper and sliders are for protection, I live in an area with a lot of snowfall and I like to play in the mountains so I am adding the winch during bumper install. Im sure it will come into play to pull someone, or myself, out of deep snow at some point.

As I progress, I will most likely want to add more goodies like armor/racks/what not. With this I understand that I will need to do something to beef up the suspension and clearance setup. Im wondering if there is a cost effective way to increase weight bearing capabilities of the existing Fox setup and to also give it more lift. If not, and later down the road, I will probably be swapping out suspension and adding another type of lift which will lead to wanting slightly larger wheels/tires. Slippery Slope of Modding!

Swapping out PRO Suspension and Wheels does eliminate some of the appeal of a PRO in general. But for me, the other extra goodies are well worth the minimal price difference I am paying over the OR and I feel as a beginner the suspension setup is a good benchmark for off-roading and will help me better determine what my goals are for the truck.

For sure. It seems like you have a solid game plan. If you think of it, let me know if there ends up being any adverse consequences to adding all that weight to the front. If none, I’ll probably follow suit. By the way, the victory 4x4 doesn’t require cutting the front bumper and comes in steel or aluminum. Something to consider.

Just picked up my '21 Taco TRD Pro in super white, love it even more than I thought. Got lucky and someone ordered it 6 months ago and got tired of waiting and bought something else, and I happen to call at the right time. Happy to be part of the Tacoma World.

Some pictures from fleet.toyota.com. Figured they would be useful here. YMMV, my broker and his firm order through Fleet. I do not know how other dealerships get their products from, or if it is the same/different system.

EDIT: This info is unreliable and NOT current, as pointed out by another member. Gonna leave it up as some baseline is better than none, especially for those of us so far from our delivery.

My truck just showed up on the spreadsheet in this thread, not sure how close that means it is but it is progress! Any day now!
