Truck driver b.s.

I got my truck and trailer back from service this morning. So happy to have my rig back!

 

Yup, they replaced both spring packs in the drop axle and my ac finally appears to be working. I'll have to wait for an 80+ degree day to be sure.

 

Wait wait wait wait.... you gotta WAIT for an 80+ day?!

I'm begging for a 80 or less day. We will see that... maybe around late November.

 

It's been very hot here, finally cooled of and we had a really nice week last week. I think we're going back to 80 something tomorrow. There's a reason I live in the north, I can't stand the heat!

I feel ya. I am not otr but I do local (within the state) hauling and maintaining farming equipment as a heavy mechanic. And fairly regularly have to haul portashitters along with all the other equipment to empty the next cellar on the list.

So you see... you and me... we up to the same shit.

Hauling a forklift with my 1 ton dually yesterday I got pulled into a scale house for the first time. Luckily I had enough tonnage and all my other ducks were in a row!

 

Gotta work tomorrow on Saturday, oh well if they want to throw money at me I'll take it. It's usually only a half day so all is good. Less traffic on a Saturday morning too.

 

Did that last weekend.

 

Frigging AC is out in the truck again, worked a whole 2 days. Been in 4 times, last time for almost a month. Compressor won't kick on, same as last time. Hot as hell in the truck, cooler outside than in the cab.

 

At work, Saturday am. Can't find anyone that gives a crap to find out what I'm supposed to be back hauling. Good thing I'm paid by the hour.

 

Only 5 days for me this week! Supposed to have about 3 days of rain. But today will be nice.

 

20 yrs, mil plus miles. All for the same outfit.
Currently doing the graveyard thing (7pm/9am) just drop n hook.

 

We've had perpetual rain since early July. Think I've seen a handful of dry days in that stretch.

And were supposed to be the "Sunshine State"

 

We had a wet spring and early summer, but it has really dried out now so we could use some rain. It's been wierd this year, has cycles of really wet followed by really dry periods, and it repeats. Been so dry here lately that some trees are already dropping their leaves.

 

Waiting doesn't bothered me, unless it interferes with my HOS. Also being hourly helps....

Got new wiper blades this morning, supposed to have heavy rains here the next couple of days in Michigan. I guess a front is going to be slow moving and stall out dropping a lot of rain.
I'm ready now! Lol.
