Took a photo with the iphone 7 I am using as my nav since May. It seems like it works because it can still take photos great.

Nice thanks. I’m still worried. Might buy an old beater phone and use it for maps.me on the bars

Yeah I would be too. I really bought the dampener for a just in case situation where I need to put my normal phone up there for charging purposes only, and it would be rare.

:rofl:I’m sure confusion will happen. Luckily we don’t really care if someone makes a mistake and takes the wrong bike.

different racks and abs vs non abs makes them easy to tell apart in person, though

So I picked up a new bike to clean up and flip last week.

    2004 Honda Shadow VT750c Aero
    Vtwin
    Shaft drive
    One owner
    Garage kept
    2900 original miles

Its so original, that it has the factory tires from 2004 :anonymous:

So far, its gotten the oil changed twice (i lubed the cylinders with oil since it had sat for so long, ran it with a “break in oil” and then changed it and the filter to good oil), new plugs, new shaft oil, new battery and a new air filter. Buffed all the plastics. I’m still working on buffing the tank, windshield and all the chrome.

It comes with a windshield, bike cover, and leather saddle bags.

These photos are right after I picked it up:

    943FFD51-FED5-47C0-BCED-142CCE64FC2C.jpg

Its very nice and extremely surprising for how smooth and comfortable it is. I was impressed when I took it for a blast around the block.

I’m seriously considering going ahead and putting tires on it so that if the person that buys it doesn't know any better, they wont get hurt. Because, they aren't dry rotted, but they are very old and hard with glazing from sitting.

Do I want to impulsively embark on a 700 mile ride?

I already know the answer but just wanted to ask anyway

@uurx what do you suggest for an adv helmet? Dirt and goggles or a true adv helmet with a windscreen?

    yes, yes you do!!!
    good question, idk honestly

i have a full face, i have the traditional moto with goggles, never used an adv style helmet soo no experience there...

id like to try one but with the two helmets i have now im not interested in spending the cash, ive read good and bad things about them, a bunch of take it or leave it opinions really, id say go into a cycle gear store and try them on, if it fits and feels comfy and you like the style/looks what else can you ask for assuming it has all the safety rating and you can afford it / credit card it :spending:

my moto helmet with goggles is loud, but the air flow is nice and so is the ability to use the helmet with no goggles at all if ever needed be required or desired

if you plan on riding highway with an africa twin, i can see the adv helmet being great, but i never tried it soo idk, i feel like if i had an africa twin my regular full face would look dorky so in a superficial way those aesthetics bother me

It might be time for a new helmet. Not until after the Africa Twin though. Ive enjoyed my Sena, but if new helmet has it built in, that would be nice too.

The AT has Apple CarPlay built in too so, id guess bluetooth?

You feel goofy?!? I discovered my Shoei sport bike lid has a disintegrating interior so it’s new helmet time.... need to find a full face covering helmet that looks at home on a CT110.

Thinking a modular is in my future.

I think a dirt bike helmet on the highway sounds terrible for wind noise alone. Max I see on my ride to the trails is 65-70 mph and need to wear plugs to not go deaf on the 30 min ride there. Not to mention my head being blown everywhere.

200 down. Stopped for the night. 500 to to go. Can’t decide if I want to do it all tomorrow or stop halfway.

I'd say adv helmet. I've got a modular that has been serving me well. Nothing crazy about it as I spent less than $200 on it but the built in sun visor and ability to flip the chin up to take a drink is nice.
