Ok best day ,in 4 months, since I retired.
    Some can relate.
A family member that’s just a nice person. Great guy. Boat wouldn’t run. Almost 80 and still works. So today I grabbed it. Never worked on a tohatsu. Found corrosion in a pin on the ecu. Carb emulsion tube and jet partially plugged.

water test at some point but I feel confident he won’t get stuck.

    @95SLE

I made GOHAN with my boys old license plate with a Humbucker neck pickup
And a piezo electric pickup taped to the plate under the bridge.

The diddly bow was made from a fret less guitar I made from a house hand rail.

    Morning all:
 for helping your family member out Mike, you definitely saved him a few $$$$$! I always hope that what goes around comes around, so far that has pretty well held true for the most part for me.

Way to go Mike! Skill of making someone happy is a lifetime gift! Are those dog fence training flags I see?

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch! Just a Friday mowing day for me. Then, I'm going to take the peppers out of the greenhouse for the next project there.

New next door neighbors have 2 little yippers..
    Seem very nice young couple.
I helped them do a couple of things outside and told him he could use my bow range when I set it up in a week or two.

I had given my mom and dad an iPad back in 2020 so I could actually see them during their long quarantine in the midst of the pandemic. Dad was sorta okay at working it, but after he passed and mom took control it mostly just sat. She had no patience for it. After she died I was over at their apartment doing stuff and got to talking with their neighbor, who as it turns out had an ancient iPad that I tried to get working for her. But it was Just. So. Slow. It was useless. So today I gave her mom and dad's much, much newer iPad. She grabbed that thing and started poking away. I was impressed! And I felt good.

Good morning all!! Today is laundry day and I am already working on it. I purchased some steaks from Creekstone farms this week and today I am going to smoke and reverse sear a Tri Tip steak. I might get ambitious and clean off my workbench in the garage.

Well damn... a couple of days ago I pulled the trigger on three old M37 trucks that I've had my eye on for several years. They were sitting in a field and the owners lived in Nebraska, the house looked abandoned, and the contact number I got was bad so I've never been able to talk to them. Wednesday I was driving by and there was a car in the driveway. Now I have another (three) project and I don't even have my garage built yet. I got the building permit Wednesday, the reason for the trip into town. (Anybody know where to get trusses without waiting for months?)

Now I have to decide what to do with them. They are all claimed to run, and look like they will. The red one has 30K miles, the ragtop less than 10K, and the hardtop has a new engine.

But I'm looking for ideas. Help me out here people. Tell me what you think.

And if you know anything about M37 trucks, I want to pick your brain.

    Morning all:
I know nothing about M37 trucks, looks like you found yourself some projects, have fun!
As for trusses, when I built my 32x48 garage I didn't use them, I went old school and it's still standing , unless you are required to use engineered trusses it's an option unless you are building a huge garage.

What did you use if not engineered trusses? You did a 32 foot span? How?

60! Bunch of kids. I’m 72 with an 11 year old Tacoma, a 54 year old wife and 21 year old son.
I’m so old my social security number is 14, the globe in my school was flat and we had sex ed and driver training in the same ‘55 Chevy.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals! Nothing much this on the agenda Saturday, and I'm darn well going to try to accomodate that. Got to go yell at Walgreens about Rx, and UPS about shipping my returns to Amazon so I get credit, and a dehumidifier that is speaking in tongues to look at.

@Travlr - google M37 FORUMS, because they don't show up with just Dodge M37 in google. I had a friends years ago that had a few. Can't kill 'em! Should be a lot of fun.

Put the ridge boards up first and nailed 2x8's 18" C-C on to it and the top sill. I have an upper floor on it, so I came in a bit on the floor joists, nailed boards across them like you would for a knee wall, and ran vertical braces off them to each rafter, also braced across the top of each opposing roof rafter leaving enough room to walk under them, so it looks like an A, it isn't going nowhere!
Lot of work, but with a bit of research you could probably fabricate trusses yourself if needed, I've seen some engineered trusses that looked horrible and looked like they were made from scrap wood, I certainly wouldn't have been very happy with them!

Interesting! We have a 32' wide garage to handle 3 bays. I didn't want a post in the middle, so we came up with this 32' 3-piece truss setup.

I know nothing about M37 trucks, but I did find this site: https://silodrome.com/dodge-m37-truck/

Edit: and here's another interesting one...https://military.wikia.org/wiki/Dodge_M37

Edit: and here's a link to an operating and maintenance manual: http://dodgem37.com/documents/Tech Manuals/TM9-2320-212-10.pdf

Looks like somebody had fun with the cartoons in the O&M manual...If the Tacoma Operators Manual had these cartoons maybe more of us would have read the thing...(or maybe not)
