Sorry, Tony... I completely missed your first question. The pedal feels stiffer, with less wiggle. I really didn't think it would, but it does.

You could definitely replace just the pedal. In fact, I was going to ask @su.b.rat is there was any difference between the master cylinder part numbers, but I had already bought the parts, so I just installed them. If the MCs are the same, then there's no reason to go through all of the trouble of removing the entire assembly.

From what @su.b.rat posted previously, the only change on the M/C is the all metal end on the push rod.

One more stupid question. The rubber pad on the pedal. Can you reuse it or did you replace it?

 

The MC I ordered came with a metal adjuster on it, but the parts list I went off of also included a part number
for another metal adjuster, so I ended up with two. The additional adjuster was a *tiny* bit different than the adjuster
included with the MC I purchased, so I used that one.

 

Reused it.

I was thinking of you as I was in that area on Wednesday upgrading my always on USB outlet wiring.

 

I'm going to do this. Probably just go with the hard line option as it is cheap and sounds like it will go back together faster than dremelling out the accumulator (and I can dremel latter if I want). I noticed the poor clutch at first, but have quickly adjusted to it by slowing down how fast I go on and off the clutch. However, being able to work with it still does not make it optimal.

I'm also going to tune. Again, for the most part I could live with it, but it could certainly be better and as I plan to keep the truck for 20 years it might as well work like I prefer it to.

The clutch nanny is now gone. If I had it to do over again I would have used my jack stands to get a bit more clearance for myself under the truck.

For myself, I noticed an instant improvement. I can shift quickly now and the cutch acts like it should.

Thanks to OP and everyone that posted on this thread. I ordered the Honda line, but delivery is running late, so I decided to go the dremmel route. Less than an hour worth of work, but my long skinny fingers did help with that top bolt on the cover closest to the exhaust hanger. I had no idea this was a thing on tacomas and was frustrated at how inconsistent my driving was.
