Ok Ive got a question for those who are savvy. I have a 2005 v6 TRD automatic trans.

Ok.When I accelerate it seams to misfire above two thousand RPMs. This is extremely apparent when I drive up hills slowely. I have replaced my air filter, cleaned my throttle body, cleaned my MAF with MAF cleaner, and have changed my spark plugs. The problem started after I changed the plugs. I gaped them properly. They are Champion plugs. I did some reading and heard that this could be a vuccum leak, a blown head gasket, or bad wires. I cant hear any vacuum leaks, I seriously doubt its my head gasket because I don't drive it too hard, and my wires looked fine. I checked the connections. Even if it were my plugs, why would they only not decide to work at 2k rpms?

    Ideas?

nope. The wires are exactly as they should be. I dont even think its possible to put them on wrong as they dont reach too far from the plug

Didn't wash off your engine did you?
Had a misfire once when I "gunked" and sprayed off my engine and some water infiltrated one of the coils. Ran fine at idle but under load would misfire. Took it apart and hit the coils with a hair dryer and it worked fine.

    distributor cap? rotor ?
otherwise i would say double check the and make sure the wires aren't crossed, if you know the plugs are gaped right i wouldn't bother checking them but it wont hurt the pull and check them

Is it possible that you could have damaged one of your plug wires? Were they difficult to pull off when you changed the plugs? If you had to pull hard on the wire it may have torn loose inside the boot causing center lead not to have a good connection to the terminal. Don't know if that's the problem but I would inspect each wire to make sure.

What leads you believe it is a missfire? What exactly is happening? If that is what is happening your check engine light will come on and then you will be able to find out which plug it is for sure.

Dunno if this is related but I changed the plugs and air filter on my gf solara this past weekend. I undid the black wire off the battery and reconnected when finished. It ran like shit. Wouldn't hold idle. I had to drive with two feet to the dealership down the street, one foot to operate brake and the other to hold a little bit of an idle so it wouldn't die. It not as easy as it sounds. Anyways, I pull into the toyota dealership and I tell him I changed the plugs and filter and he asks me if i disconnected the black wire off the battery, I say yes. He says good. You just need to drive it around for a bit. Something about the computer relearning after the plugs and air filter. I took his advice and drove around for like 15 min and it eventually got better and runs great now. Dunno if you have the same issue but maybe its something similar for you.

Ya I did mine on my buddy's truck the weekend before with no problems so i figured her 4 banger solara would be just as easy. Murphy's law I guess.

Check it at night and also try misting some water from a spray bottle. Look for arc's to engine or a ground source. It could also be a defective new plug.

I got a great deal on a motorcycle once because a new spark plug, out of the box, was bad.

Same here. I got a good deal on a camry because it was running terrible, turned out the plugs were just changed and one was bad.

OBD2 scan test will tell you. After changing my plugs I had a misfire. My ECL didn't come on but my Ultra gauge had a pending error code of P0302. P030X is misfire and X is the cylinder. Replaced number 2 plug and ran perfect.
