There was about a week there when I drove it.

Ok, it was a day, but I drove it!

Ok, it was an hour, and I pushed it.

Ok, it moved when I lowered the jack and rested it on its wheels.

Ok, I raised the jack to reposition a jackstand.

Ok, I moved the snow off the Tacoma.

    But hey, something moved!

The stupid rear disc brake conversion kit blows. This is the 3rd time I've had a caliper lock up, and each time it's a special order because it uses obscure calipers from the 1987 Ford Thunderbird 4 cylinder turbo coupe.

Between the cost of the kit, fabrication to fix the clearance issues it caused with the rear shocks, multiple master cylinders to find one that works, and random fixes, it was the worst (and most expensive) mistake I made on my truck.

Anyway, it'll be fixed again this weekend. Planning a trip to Rausch Creek with Kurt Shramovich and his rock crawling crew next weekend so I've gotta be running.

Just got the Ford back from the shop last night. VERY excited to be driving the diesel again! :)

It's really not that bad. The rear of the truck sits low but I'm still riding on 33" tires. The leaf springs are no lower than the differential housing so it's kind of a wash. Just have to pay attention to tire placement and it's all good. :)
