Most ADV helmets can be run with goggles. Leave the shield on for highway portions, pull it off (some some even just let you raise it up) when you get on the dirt and put goggles on. At least my two ADV helmets can be run that way (509 Delta R3 and a AGV AX9 [I think a 9?])

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the advantage of running googles over a closed face shield in such situations?

More airflow around your face with goggles vs face shield. Dirt/woods riding makes you HOT.

    ^^ this

Face shield up for airflow without goggles is a great way to get a tree branch in your eye haha the downside of goggles though is insane wind noise if you're on the highway, so adv lids are normally able to do flip between the two modes.

Only downside if you remove the faceshield for goggles once you get to dirt is where do you put the face shield at. It's a weird shape to strap to the back seat if you aren't running some kind of pannier.

I've never used it on the trails, just for street riding but the airflow is decent. The built in Bluetooth is great and the ability to flip up the visor at stop lights is nice. I don't due much night riding so I go a smoked visor which helps a lot with the sun. Screenshot_20210917-105332_Chrome.jpg
