:hattip:Good morning everybody. We made it to Saturday!

Still more rain expected from what’s left of Nicholas. Flash flood watches have been in effect all week. This is getting old.

Good morning, folks! Second morning of the day. Woke up way too early and took a couple of hours to get back to sleep.

Ironically, it was a 5 day layover at 'The Rock' on my 1st float that made me do a 2nd WestPac instead of going to the rock for a year.

I was always thrown off by the Navy's laxed interactions between enlisted and Officer. You would see on daily basis an E1 yelling at an O2 because the deck ape didn't want to do a specific job. What were the interactions like between enlisted and Officers in the CG?

    LOL !!!

I noticed that also , Navy officers also hated being saluted and would never return a salute back

The EOD school for all the services is there too. They moved it from my little home town. Dad use to be a instructor there and it's where the Museum will be built as well.

In twenty years the only place I saw this was in the Deck Department. The Leading Seaman (E3) was pretty important, normally busted from E5, and the Ships Bosu'n/1st LT right hand man. He run the Deck Department underway. Anywhere else it was respect as normal. Chiefs wear the same uniform as Officers and that may have been what you saw. Very hard sometimes to tell the difference.

I hated CWO's especially in the Marines , they always felt like they had more authority than a O2 and above !!!

That’s interesting only because in the USAF you didn’t have any authority until O3 even from your NCOs

They did...ahahahahahha. Technical Experts, normally a prior enlisted guy, will win the argument every time. I had lots of respect for them especially in a life or death situation.

EDIT. In the Navy "LDO" or limited duty officers were the best. My best man at my wedding in Italy was a LDO Diving Officer. He was a former Master Chief and Master Diver. He was a total badass. When he retired, he resigned his commission, reverted back to Master Chief (E9) to collect the most money. He was very smart too. LOL

I had a CWO2 yell at me for not properly saluting him and this was from 20 yards away from once I recognized him as an officer as I got closer to him

I was on crutches just a few days after having knee surgery and making my way to my unit to check back in . I'm trying to watch were I was walking as I was in pain and I here this " Hey Marine why aren't you saluting your superior an officer"

He had me hobble over to him face to face then proceeded to chew my ass out for what seemed like 10 minutes . Then instructed me to salute him 50 times while trying to balance myself on my crutches without passing out in pain from putting weight on my bad leg
