I’ll be looking to finalize a tester file this weekend. I’ll be sure to shoot you the files just as I did with early VR testing.

I’m pretty confident you’ll like where it’s at

Allegedly that’s supposed to be released at the time of the ultimates tunes and map switching so hopefully soon. Have you been able to get a 4B82 file with the octane independent updates yet? I really want to fix crawl control but I really don’t want to go back to stock lol.

This weekend I’ll get a B82 file made for you guys and update through the website.

I’ve been playing with ultimate test files since March and cannot figure out how to make it function properly. Let Mat know about all my findings on it and I know he has been looking through it.

I look forward to when he has a viable ultimate file set. It’ll be a pretty quick conversion to combine all three of our tunes. Runner, Sport, and *Redacted*

(@shotgunbilly420 I thought you’d like that little hint)

I'm really looking forward to trying Sport. Your Runner tune was the smoothest tune I have run, and I've run a LOT of tunes. However, after running Mat's SFOB tunes, and a few other "performance" oriented tunes, Runner just didn't have the oomph I was used to. If Sport offers even 25% more power than Runner, but retains the smoothness of Runner, it should be awesome. Runner will remain my "winter" tune, in an effort to keep the back tires from breaking loose in the snow. :)

Sport has so far spun tires on damp morning roads where pedal application matched what I normally used with Runner.

I’m pretty sure it’ll meet your needs and then some

Do you know how Output shaft rpms were converted to numbers in shift tables? I see a few formulas online, but wondering if you have some experience. I saw other app and they use output shaft values for shift points.
    Thanks

I’ve been trying for a while but can’t figure out what is used.

It’s extremely weird to pinpoint what values to change. Hopefully as we get more tables, we will also get info on them

This weekend after I get you the sport tester, I’ll provide the experimental file mentioned

    Side note:
Valley Runner 1.0 for 4Runners will become available at the same time as Sport does for Tacoma

Are these all octane learning. Why I ask is I'm gonna have to go back to regular octane im tired of swiping my card twice to fill up my truck . Premium is $4.50 + a gallon here in Washington

If I where to purchase the VR ECU is it just a swap and I can keep my ECU? I’m a little unsure how this upgrade works?

Secondly, if I purchase just the tune can I give it to a local tuner to install if I can find one? I’m in Boise, ID. I think there are a couple tuners here but they are offering other tunes as near as I can tell.
    Thanks

So on my 78mi commute home my gas tank was very low, fuel light on. I stopped and put 6gal of regular unleaded in/ always run premium till today . After about 30min of continuing my commute I started to notice the drivability changed . The tunes behavior got better . I'm scratching my head on this one . As I came to my turn to get on the freeway the acceleration I didn't notice much of change , but once I got to 65mph I noticed right away tune was behaving much better at hwy speeds . I'm going to continue to run regular unleaded and see what mpgs I'll get, how drivability goes , and just to see how the tune performs with the combination of my bolt on mods.

You can keep your ECU but you will not have the core charge refunded.

We currently do not have any partnered installer in Boise. Unfortunately, based on prior experiences, other installers do not listen to customers on what tune they want installed (they tend to push the ones they offer and that’s it).

If you can find someone who is willing to install for you, they can purchase the files for your truck through our website and tune it.

    ————
    Regarding pre-tuned ECUs:

The mechanical swap of the engine computer takes roughly 20-30min. After which you’ll be able to use a custom pairing adapter we send you. After the new ECU is paired with the rest of the electronics of the truck, you’re good to go and can enjoy your tuned truck.

We include detailed step by step instructions with photos, additional equipment required for the install is available as add-on purchases as well.

The process should take no more than 1-1.5hrs.

Once swapped and tuned, your stock ECU will essentially collect dust unless you decide to swap it back in. The ECUs are programmed to your VIN.

Just punched it to the floor getting on an on ramp. Revved all the way to 7k rpm and I let off the gas it felt like it was going to go further. Is this normal behavior for this tune? I’m thinking about resetting my learned values. I never have since I flashed. my from a stop tip in is getting more and more jerky/extremely sensitive.

Oh boy yeah this tune lets us scream up to 7k . There definitely is more power up top . My first time doing that was a little scary, but I've done it so many times merging on hwy or getting on hwy it's a norm now.

Okay. When does it seem to shift? Right at 7k?

Yeah more or less . I don't try to get up to 7k excessively as I don't want to increase the speed of wear and tear on my motor . When I do I let off a little and let transmission grab next gear or if I'm in S mode I shift to next gear and throttle back into it .
