It's a wheelchair transport vehicle. There is a ramp that extends out to the side so you can roll in and out.

A friend's son has CF (cystic fibrosis) who has enough lung power to run a 100 ft sprint, but for full-day outings use a wheelchair due to failing lungs. It's how I learned
about those weird-looking vehicles, and am sure he would rather drive a Miata.

MV1. Specialized people mover for wheelchairs and other adaptable mobility solutions. We have a fleet of them in town run by the bus company to transport folks in wheelchairs around for the same cost as a regular bus ticket.

Two of our employees here would regularly get dropped off and picked up. They've been at home since March of 2020 and, last I heard, are looking forward to one day coming back to work in the building. Ironically...their whole division has been so successful in a work from home capacity that it surrendered all of its floor space - they're not coming back to work here.

More space in the parking lot!

Just another example why Tacoma owners are better drivers that F150 drivers.

That list is virtually endless. Tacoma drivers are better than all others in every possible metric... other than humility. There's a little work to be done there.:anonymous:
