I didn’t think the OEM had a grommet? Mine didn’t have any

As I recall, the VLED came with a rubbery one and a foamy one. The foamy one was the better fit. I have spares and can take pics when I return from exile.

I used the firmer rubbery one... and 2 of the set screws at 180 degrees from each other.
Fit was snug but positive :D
Not going any further with this... but I did install these on Saturday and they're working awesome.

AH, 921… I was referencing the 7443 version, which is 3 screws.

Hey guys- so i just got my v6 triton VLEDs to brighten up my stage 2 tail lights kit. As others have said, they come with no instructions and so its a bit confusing to those who haven’t messed with their lights at all.
Now my question is which one of my tail lights do these replace? #1 or #2 ? Or do i need another set of these?

also, this passenger side Tacoma TRD offroad tail light is for sale if anyone needs it. Complete with factory bulbs

If these are just red. both 1 and 2, you need another set

also, doesn't look like you have a stage OG "2", unless this is an old pic. The reverse bulb bucket still has the 921 style

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
Very excellent. I am waiting for the V5 turn signals. Apparently they are only $160 now with a $15 option for the DRL kit for 2016-2019. I assume this means 2020 and up models do not need this to utilize the DRL features?

The fact that prices changed along with the main web page tells me that things are rolling along. Cheers.

I don't think that's what that means. You will still need a DRL power source

Depending if you have the puddle lights and which version

And will need a drl kit if you do not have anything

Edit: also how you want them to function*

Thanks! I was confused how the V5s work/tap into the DRLs.

So I bought the total tail stage 1 kit last black Friday. Never got around to installing until earlier this month. Amazing output and love the switch back from turn signal to reverse.

Finally had time to do some off-roading today and I was coming down a long decline, about 25 degrees down for about 150-200 yards. Mostly holding my brake and feathering off it a bit over some rocks. All of a sudden, half way down, I get warning lights all over my dash. Brake override malfunction, cruise disabled, safety sensor disabled, traction control off, see your dealer. The whole nine yards. When I reached the bottom of the hill, I decided to turn off the truck and restart, hoping it just needed a quick reset. Boy was I wrong. Truck wouldn't start at all. Had to do the two press and hold 30 second start button to fire up the truck and then shifter override because it wouldn't let me out of park.

Now I'm thinking maybe it's a bad battery or something came loose when I hit a bump and didn't have enough to crank. Made it home and noticed the brake lights wasn't coming on when depress the pedal when I was backing into the garage.

Checked the 10A stop fuse and it was blown. Replaced it with a 15A spare under the fuse box cover and all warnings disappeared. I could start my truck again like normal.

Love these taillights, great quality, fit and finish is on par to OEM. But seriously Toyota.... the little 10A stop fuse blowing will put your entire truck out of service and leave you stranded if you didn't know how to start the truck another way and get the shifter out of park.

10/10 would buy anything from @MESO

I had something similar happen when I changed out a tail light bulb on my rav4. The fuse blew and I could not get out of park. I assume its a safety thing since your tail lights don't light up when you hit the brakes. I didn't get a bunch of dash lights like you did though.
